A Suggestion About MiniNova Linking

when linking to mininova torrents like you do now. you should change your
links for tor to get.

change your links from:

h**p://www.mininova.org/tor/490952
to
h**p://www.mininova.org/get/490952

this way it just downloads the torrent instead of sending us to mininova. its
frustrating getting sent to the whole mininova page to have all the same info
displayed that we already knew about the torrent. on your bt-chat links it
just downloads the torrent. you should change the mininova links todo the same.

i just realized it took out the links, ill try and re-word them.

someone else is hosting your files, least you could do is redirect people to
their page, plus you have the direct link option at btchat.

theres many sites that link to mininova's get feature. go ask in there forum,
they allow it. bt-chat also allows it. no sense on direct-linking one and not
the other.

i've heard that eztv cannot link directly to the torrent because people wont
see the ads on the mininova page.

personally i prefer that it goes to the page rather than the torrent directly
because some times the comments section on mininova gets nuked info before it
gets mentioned on here.

this site gets a lot of hits, and the mininova admins would rather eztv didn't
send them all directly through to the /get/ link. and of course they can see
the referral url, so it would not be hard for them to notice where all the
traffic was coming from if it was changed.

in short, mininova has been the primary distribution point for eztv torrents
from the start and if they make a reasonable request it will be respected.

i completly agree, i was just unaware that they specificly requested eztv not
use the get feature as ive seen many other sites use it and its been metioned
in there forums.

the mininova admins will sometimes redirect /get/requests to the /tor/ page if
the referrer is one that doesn't play nice, or they get an excessive volume of
traffic from.

seems entirely reasonable to me.
