the uploaded files all seem to have a consistent size and quality, bitrate,
etc. for xvid encodings done by different people. is there are listing of
settings, or even better a gknot or megui downloadable profile that everyone's
using that i could be pointed to?

i want to share with the community, but my encodings are all come out bigger
than the seemingly standard 350mb for ~43 minutes of material.

everyone else seems to be in on some secret :-)

thanks in advance!

well, when i release some of my stuff, i just encode with autogk, and use the
file size option.

in autogk just use the file size limit setting. set it to 350mb for a standard
42min show or 700mb or a hr hdtv.

here are pretty good guidelines for settings h**p://www.doom9.org/xvid-vdub-11.htm
additional note: use unrestricted profile, no qpel, no gmc, h264 or mpeg matrix
only (these notes are too keep it compatible)

and xvid should be encoded in virutaldubmod not autogk. megui can work but is
more work then you need to do sometimes regarding commercials or cuts
