all done, dns will have changed so flush the dns cache if you want/need to.

i'm still having problems connecting. flushed the cache, redownloaded
torrents, etc. but i keep getting a 'connection closed by peer' error. any help
would be very much appreciated.

mmmmm, if you can see the forum then the problem is something else...
"connection closed by peer" is something sometimes associated with
traffic shaping/throttling by your isp. is this a localised (to mvgroup)
problem or does it happen with other trackers as well?

so far as i can tell, just mvgroup (there are the odd trackers i just can't
connect to but those are usually ones in a group of trackers and normally wind
up being private or something else like that). it's the only torrents coming up
with a red tag in utorrent (and i have several running, both seeding and
downloading). i've got a pretty wide pipe both up and down and looking at the
stats, i'm well under the thresholds on the adsl line so it shouldn't have
anything to do with the isp. i checked just to make sure and they've assure me
that they don't throttle anyone. it's a business isp so most of their customers
pay to not have that sort of thing done to them. ;-) thanks for looking in to it!

well i'm stumped then, nothing had been changed prior to the move to the new
server today and the tracker on the new server responded ok as the torrents
checked in, i'll keep an eye out to see if anyone else speaks about it, but to
date i've only seen two people on the forum mention "connection closed by peer"
and both use malaysian isp's and it appeared that is was a throttling technique,
googling the phrase returns quite a few sites saying the same thing.

some isps cache dns resulting in it not getting new ips even when you do a
flushdns.
