hello!

although i'm english, i watch a lot of american tv...and all the shows that i watch have somehow disappeared (scrubs, family guy, lost, sg atlantis, desperate housewives, house, to name a few)...so now
i'm looking for some filler.

any recommendations ?

have you tried regenesis? it's a canadian show, and there's 4 seasons of it.
that should keep you going for a while. it's kinda like house, without the
humour factor.

give "dexter" a try. there is a couple of seasons of that.
some others i would recommend are "jericho" (2 seasons [ended]) and "underbelly"
(1 season [ended])

i\'m english too, but have the added bastard of living in france (tv dead zone).

i\'m 35 and have lowered myself to watching teenage stuff and actually enjoying it.

it\'s summer, and apparently american tv shuts down for some bizarre reason.

here\'s a list of stuff worth watching - some of it finished for good.

deadwood.
= dead good! a western with an english bloke playing the bad guy. really dark,
violent, foul mouthed, sexually explicit; like the way a soap opera should be
but never is. nice.

heroes.
i thought it was for children but it\'s actually very good. conspiracy stuff and
normal folk discovering special powers and all that.

veronica mars
should be - no, is - for older teenagers but turned out to be very enjoyable.
she\'s the daughter of a detective and is trying to solve the mystery of her
friend\'s death whilst making a few quid along the way solving her own cases.

weeds
annoying, dipsy, recently bereaved housewife starts selling weed to make ends
meet. thought it
would be utter garbage but it\'s actually pretty addictive and likeable.

dexter
get past the first couple of episodes and you\'re hooked. serial killer you end
up rooting for. great stuff, gets better and better.

terminator sarah connor chronicles.
premise spells \'utter shit\' but it\'s actually pretty good.
the female cyborg sidekick is fit as fook.
surprisingly entertaining.

burn notice
it\'s not bad. spy gets blacklisted for no reason, tries to work out why, solves
a few cases on the way to make a few quid. uses the same tired old template as
veronica mars - and to be honest i prefer the teenage girl.

carnivale
about a carnival troupe, basically one kid is jesus and some bloke is the devil.
blah blah. it\'s was really good, it got cancelled, still has a large cult
following lobbying for it\'s return, definitely worth tracking down.

curb your enthusiasm.
brilliant. seinfeld creator pretending to be himself in a fly on the wall style
thing that gets less and less fly on the wall as it goes along. give it time, if
you don\'t think it\'s the funniest thing on tv then you\'re a bad human being - or
perhaps just not a neurotic, 30+ misanthrope.

24
obviously. the stupider it gets the more there is to like.

kyle xy.
i was so desperate i tried this and actually liked it.
really shouldn\'t be watched after 17 years of age.

the wire
the very best. sort of a cop show, but follows the gangsters, schoolkids,
newspapermen etc just as closely. finished now.

i could go on...

i can see you like comedy, so give arrested development a go. it's probobly the
best comedy to come out of america. if you want drama then you can't go past dexter.

scrubs, family guy and house are 3 of my favorite shows, so even though i hate
lost and dh i am going to help you out.

this year, the best show hands down is generation kill, that show is the shit,
but it is not everyone's cup of tea. but it is hard hitting facts of life, well
acted and just fucking good. i am not sure how someone in gb will take to it
though.

monk and hereo's where also listed, both good shows.

-eli stone is the best new show of last season hands down. i just watched them
all again. this show makes me hold back the tears almost every episode, it is deep.

-dr who is the best sci-fi show ever and for decades, oh wait you are english,
you prolly know this.

-i have to assume you have watched the office both bbs and english versions,
both are genius.

- the it crowd and extra's two more bbc and hq comedies. but you are english so
i have to assume you already know this. i sense a theme about a lot of good
english shows. although davies ruined torchwood and came close with dr. who.

-journeyman was awesome, but you will just get really depressed as it got canceled.

-burn notice and psych on usa are great

-all seasons of the shield and rescue me on fx are great. nip/tuck is a decent
time killer.

- if you can find it, firefly was great.

- chuck on nbc is also very good but a bit corny.

- greys anatomy has its ups and downs, but i dig it. it is too bad isaiah had to
fuck up and call homeboy a fag on scene, as i liked him in the show.

- don't waste your time on battlestar galactica, you will regret it, i did.
ton's of potential that got fucked fast.

-sarah conner chronicles, one of last years best sci-fi's and it has river in it.

- buffy the vampire slayer and angel are two of the best shows in history.

-the dark night is over rated and a waste of time and money.

-life is decent, and picked up for another season.

-weeds and entourage are awesome, i am posting this as i wait on weeds. ari
gold is my hero.

-30 rock got nominated for a lot of emmy's, never watched it, but i like tina
fey, so i am gonna give it a whirl. tracy morgan has his moments too. alec is
one of the best actors around, so how bad can it be.

- 3 more comedies i really enjoy rules of engagement, two and a half men, and
big bang theory. monday nights really fill up the ol' tivo in the fall.
patrick warburton, you know joe from family guy? aka puddy?, deserves best male
in a comedy imo. then again i also believe seth mcfarlane should be our next
president.

-i really need to give dexter a go, i keep hearing how good it is.

i love college and nfl football, so as you can see i will probably gain the 60
pounds back in the fall, as i am addicted to far too many shows. come the end
of september i am gonna be a giddy school girl.

and btw, where the hell is the next season of the it crowd?
