tonight rte2 (ireland) aired "the cost of living" and one would presume next
tuesday will air "i do". the question is, if they go beyond that point will
there be a torrent here for the further episodes?

it's a 99.9% certainty that rte won't be showing any further episodes until after
abc have shown them in the us.

considering that most of the time they don't finish all the post production
until hours before the actual airing in the us, i doubt there will be new
episodes shown outside the us. i'm pretty sure they haven't filmed much of the
upcoming stuff yet.

if rte2 do broadcast "i do", which i doubt, then either river, bia, sfm or
gothic will cape the episode. however, if they don't and skyone do (skyone
screened s03e03 last sunday in the uk), then on the 24th december (by my
calculations) i'm sure river would definately cover it. if worse comes to
worse then i'll cape it myself and post a mininova link up on here. 🙂

i was wondering the same thing, we don't normally get mid-season breaks in the
uk for our shows, maybe a week or two gap every now and again for sporting
events etc, but nothing like the usa 4-13 weeks with most shows.

will be interesting to see what skyone (uk) do, as they only picked up lost
from channel 4 this series, and it would anger fans of the show even more (you
have to pay from sky, not c4) if they placed a break in the show. well we'll
have to wait a few weeks to find out. i am pretty sure that if the uk/ireland
do show it, there will be caps.

one other teensy factor to bear in mind ...

first airing rights for an international sales monster like lost would likely
cost more than rte's entire yearly programming budget.

not saying there may not be some bizarre loophole/slipup in the contracts by
the us network, but it's *astonishingly* unlikely 🙂

"i do" will air next tuesday (5th dec) at 10pm on rte2.
that will be the last episode to air for a while.

the following tuesday (12th dec), the 10pm slot will be filled with csi (a
double bill from 9pm).

i'm just worried we'll have that same situation as stargate had with sky one,
where sky one over took sci-fi for sg-1 and one of the australian channels had
atlantis even further on.

it was a canadian channel - and they're already ahead (ep12) with season three.
