i'm sure the english opening ceremony will be fine. i thought the chinese one was great, it was really important to me...i'm a naturalized us citizen, but i was surprised at how the opening ceremony evoked strong emotions in me. anyway, it was great, but they spent like $300 million dollars on the opening ceremony. it'd better be worth that much. at first i thought having that many performers was too much overkill, then i remembered (stupidly) that there are so many talented people that would do anything for a chance to perform there, so i'm happy that a lot of performers were given that opportunity. also, when the guys are running in circles against each other, towards the end, there was one guy that almost stepped into the wrong spot but corrected himself. i thought that was funny, i was hoping that someone would make a mistake because they were so unbelievably in sync. by the way, 93percent, using these derogatory terms is so stupid and there's no use in trying to justify one by using another. edit: edited the screenname, got it wrong at first, sorry! |

yes, do away with the safety rules and sacrifice some workers to build olympic monuments that will be only used the one time and then left to rot! china\'s got the edge cause they don\'t bother with such trivialities as workers\' safety. we should all take the example, and while we\'re at it produce more dangerous products too, i mean, so what if you get electrocuted from your toaster if that sucker only cost a couple bucks? worth it! |

i'm from china and i'm glad ppl enjoyed this as much as we sure did. i know how some ppl from other countries would like to see or call china and i don't think there's much use in debating whether this is right or wrong.one thing for sure is that chinese ppl are trying, and hopefully the olympics is a good start. |
