to whom it may concern, my names is james smith and i live in melbourne, australia. i'm currently in my
second year of university and am currently completing a class on tv and film documentary. our final
production that we have to make is a 15 minute documentary on a subject of out choosing. i have chosen
to create a doco focussed bittorrent and how it has been a force of good and bad on the net. i intend to
aim my film towards all forms of piracy, but focus on tv torrents specifically, the people who choose to
run torrent websites, and also how it can be used as a very effective way of distributing large files in a
short amount of time.

as this is a documentary, i will need a substantial amount of interviews and was hoping that you would be
able to answer some questions, either via a webcam that i can record or a skype conversation. all
identities will be kept confidential and faces, voices can be changed if needed. if you or anybody else
would like to participate i would be most appreciate if you could reply to this email. i am also looking for
users of the bittorrent network to tell me why they use the bittorrent network and if they think piracy is
really a crime.

sincerly

dear mr. smith,

to your first point, if you have to ask that, i'd suggest you haven't really
done your background research which should precede any interview phase.

to the second point, i think you'll find a general consensus of users here think
piracy is a crime since, you know, the crime of piracy is defined by written
laws and courtroom arbitration. of course you entirely jumped the issue of
whether or not sharing free television broadcasts is piracy. is dvring piracy?
is sending a vhs of a recorded television show to a friend piracy? at any rate,
you can refer to several old forum threads on this site for an exhaustive
discussion of "piracy." if you find a particular poster's thoughts intriguing,
you might send them a private message to request additional comment. but i would
not count on getting a reply.

best of luck and kind regards,

quasipseudopizza oid, ph.d.

dmfaust, i am familiar with your case. the charge against you was for sodomy,
not necrophilia. sex with a corpse is perfectly acceptable, so long as it is
missionary.

hey guys, i do use torrents all the time, and have been since they started,
their just generic questions for a small voxpop, and i would like longer
interviews with site admins, and the like. and i alsso think the mpaa are full
of shit and any other industry that sues ppl for distributing free to air tv
are stupid, and dmfaust, nice one dude :d, quasipsudopizzaoid, thanks for the
reply, mind if i use it? this ain't some big ass thing, just something to pass
one class with 🙂.

cheers fellas
