since tv-programs actually a copyrighted content, i search for methods of
securying my traffic privacy. i\'ve googled on it and found software that called
\'torrentprivacy\', what do you know about it?

a few quick clicks on their website shows that a) you have to pay for the
service and b) they want your details in order to keep you anonymous - i'll
stick with my free, no-details, pg2 any day.

yea no way, just stick with peer guardian. as a general rule when dealing with
such companies. anytime your trying to deal with a company that offers some
sort of service or product to keep you anonymous, always always always stay
away if they want your information for any reason. sure the company may only
want your information for legitimate needs and claims they will never share
your information with anyone. that might even be true and they may even be the
most trusted company in the world but just remember none of them are immune to
a subpoena. the government can simply subpoena your information from them and
they dont have a choice. well i guess they kind of do have a choice, either
fork it over or face charges.

nice that they're outside us jurisdiction, but they're not outside putin's juisdiction, and he's nuts. ok
today, dead and the government owns your company tomorrow if he wakes up on the wrong side of the
bed.

fact of the matter is there is no fool-proof means to 'secure your traffic
privacy'. while programs like peer guardian can help, it is impossible for
anyone to know every ip range that is potentially hostile toward p2p. even if
they are blocked, your ip is still reported to the tracker, that's just how
torrents work. many feel range blocking is actually pretty ineffectual.

in any case, it's somewhat like the old saying 'abstinence is the only
guarantee.' if you don't like the risk, then don't do it.

and it doesn't have to be a known ip range, just get a consumer dsl line put in
and run 10 pc's off that, click on the latest 10 axxo films and everytime one
full source sends you single chunk of data write down the ip address of the
sender... cha-ching, instant money!

mmmm... get an ssl encrypted usenet account with some company that scrubs their
data logs ever 2 hours.

if your really paranoid or living in the good ol us of a. i would recommend
getting a newsgroup service and using an ssl encryption, that way no one can
know what your downloading. get a newsgroup service in the neitherlands or
somewhere over in europe where the long arm of the american law cant get to
them.

like tweeknews or giganews etc...

hope im allowed to talk about this if not sry....

would be cool though if eztv could offer nzb's....

we will not do nzb's. we are purely a torrent site.

oh well i thought eztv was primarily a tv site my mistake 😛

just teasing

seriously though you should consider nzb's, ive been a fan of eztv for years
and was very pissed off when you got your original domain stolen.and even
though i dont torrent much i religiously come here for my tv fix

what i do is i wait until i see the show appear on eztv then i just copy
paste the header to a newsgroup searcher to download it.

most people dont want to pay for an extra service so it wouldnt have a
negative effect on torrents it would just offer a convienent alternative for
those that do.

whats more you could distribute the nsb with a .torrent file so when the user
is finished downloading from the news group he just hits the .torrent file and
starts seeding the same file right away.could actually speed up initial
releases....

just a thought

the truth of the matter is that both torrentprivacy and pg2 suck. torrentprivacy is super slow and
pg can't possibly be up to date all the time. it's much better to get a real vpn like "itshidden" or
"hidemyass"

and if you are a really worried what you do is setup a lunix box with vuze, encrypt it, hook it up
to the vpn and manage it remotely. when the good guys come knocking, just take the whole damn
computer and throw in in the lake.
