chumps, i'm pretty sure he's talking about monthly bandwidth, not storage. a sata 500gb is around $au100. and he's on a pretty bad value internet plan even by aussie standards. |

a sata2 1tb samsung spinpoint is about $au158 as for his $130 for 120gb... that is better than mine which is $au119.95 for 25gb peak 45 gb off peak at 8m/.038m and i know mine is better than 1/2 a dozen isp out there, including bigpond etc that said, i can drop the price $au10 and change to 20m/1m connection if i switch my landline to my isp as a provider.... but that opens up a whole can of goannas edit: maybe i shoulda added the "from what is available in my remote area" |

well i'm on a shit tpg plan for $60, but i'm about to switch to 8gb on peak and 48gb off for $45 a month and paying more than double that just seems ridiculous. it's only 1.5mbit, but that's fine and it's the sweet spot in the adsl1 market. and i'm 'regional' too. |

think you have it bad?, i was paying $115 per month for 20gb, that is total bandwidth for the month, and my uploads are metered, that was also speed capped at 512/128. it's slightly better now with double the speed, still same bandwidth though, all for a mild $85 per month. it constantly amuses me how so many people just asume bandwidth is cheap, try living somewhere it's not, or even worse like me in an internet blackspot, and you wonder why we bitch about propers nukes and repacks... |
