i dont really get the comparisons and how ppl are expecting this show to be the
same as x-files.
x-files was about the supernatural.
as the title suggests, this show is about fringe science and they are sticking
to the scientific route.

this show has been a big disappointment so far.

much of it stems from just not giving a living shit what happens to the female
lead. that character is just flat.

if there are television gods, this show will be flushed and the middleman will
get picked up.

dont know what x-files people are remembering as most of the x-files episodes
where pure crap (the last seasons where truly bad).

just like every other tv series with there. when the episodes follow the big
plan aka season goal (like lost example) it is ok otherway just filler episodes.
a very good example of this is supernatural, 75% of the episodes give nothing to
the series and are just fillup the writting and expense cap of the production.

so far this series on par with lost in my opinion. thankfully no stupid teen
love characters etch.

the new season on house on the other hand has been a big letdown.

hope the middleman was just a joke as that series just typical lowcost garbage.
never understanded why people think firefly is so good, poor actors (summer glau
still cannot act) and low budject scifi.

nope. the middleman was awesome. and just because it is low cost doesn't mean
there was anything remotely "typical" about it.

if there's anything typical it's the total drama by the numbers crap that we're
getting from fringe.

i think it's a good show and look forward to each new episode. it's not x-
files and i wouldn't expect it to be.

the lead female role is well done, she unique for the group because she is the
type that isn't overwhelmed by things outside of the ordinary. i think this is
what the directors wanted and she delivers.

the mad scientist character adds some interesting dark humour to the show,
comes out with unexpected lines at the just the right time. his son is the odd
ball that we don't know a lot about but obviously quite intelligent in his own
right.

i don't think i am alone in liking this show as it seems to be picking up in
the ratings unlike many other new comers this season. the show is aptly named,
being about fringe science, fringe being the key word here. each episode is
dealing with some aspect of real fringe ideas out there expanded in an
entertaining and arguably realistic way.
