oh, seriously now. stop the whining! you just put this whole thread in the hall of shame. shame on you! with the exception of picard, who instead of bitching, proposed a proactive solution to be carry on by the users themselves, the other ones are just lame. the worst by a long shot being maccadog15 and their uninformed whine. the only thing worst than whining is doing so without even knowing what your whining about. stop suggesting what things the scene should change, it's not going to happen! try to fit your situation (meaning pc configuration, bandwidth, quotas, disc space, etc) to the way the scene works, don't expect for a second to be the other way around. remember that it's you who want their stuff. they don't even care about you. so suck it up. in the future, before whining, be sure to follow these steps: 1. read the rules 2. read the faqs 3. read and learn about the scene (google, wikipedia, etc) 4. come back and read the rules again! 5. if you made it this far without cheating, i'm sure that you won't feel like whining anymore. |

i live in australia but i seem to be able to manage with my 60gig a month for around $70 (20gig peak/40 offpeak) and i get a lot of shows (42 shows, all 1 hour shows except for about 4). i use the scheduler in utorrent to dl a lot overnight during offpeak (2am - 10am). if i start to max out my plan throttles down the speed (about 10kb/s) so if i know i'm getting close to my 20/40 max i leave some of my less urgent shows until i've maxed out my fast speed for the month and get them slowly. alternatively, remember there is downtime for a few weeks around thanksgiving/xmas, so save a few of your less urgent shows to dl around that time when new shows are not airing. |

mate i'm so in the same boat as you unknown_anonymous, my adsl2+ plan is excruciatingly expensive and below par value which i guess is typical of any isp in aus at the moment. what i really can't undertand is why they had to go changing the rules all of a sudden. given that the runtime of the show hasn't changed, this file is exactly 49.15 mins long which is barely 5-6 minutes longer than your average 42-43 min duration of any tv show. now given the above, and the fact the most people are accustomed to the 350mb rips for dexter episodes for the past two seasons and are quite fine with the quality provided. if people with higher bandwidths prefer a higher quality episode then the 700mb rips should suit them. i for one (and i probably speak for many aussies here on eztv) really don't find it suitable that scene releasers are just being a bit ignorant of people with lower download quotas; who are all loyal fans of the show. it really wouldn't hurt the scene releasers to be more considerate of the users (particularly in the low bandwidth range). i just hope they take notice ![]() admin : put in your thick skull that the scene does not give a flying kite about you, me, third world connections or anything else. so cut the whining as it is really annoying and is not going to change anything. live with it, join or set up a download club or move to another place. |

gosh, a lot of, "no, my bill is bigger than yours." i'll try and shimmy through the machismo. yes, i have to say that download clubs are great. i am in one with three people. between us we cover a lot of stuff and it's fun to either meet up and swap stuff over dinner or get parcels in the post every week. be inventive. find ways of getting stuff despite isp limits ![]() |

really? are you on whining auto-pilot or something? seriously "mate", now you're just embarrassing yourself. please, do read before posting. knowledge won't kill you. and please (please #2! ha! talk about being polite) don't post asking "why are you treating me like that? why are you so rude?" or the more common "you're a smart ass! shut up fuckwit! who d'you think you are?" if you read and learn, i assure you, you'll understand all that's wrong with your post. |

might i suggest you try the ipod version if your watching on such a puny screen anyway. the filesize is normally around 250mb and you would get good quality on your screen. i think its ipodtvnova if your interested. just google it |

oh, ffs! i couldn't go past this one!! are you seriously telling me that you can't even look up simple plans???? if you are stupid enough to accept that plan, then serves yourself right! i've got 50gb for $70 (adsl), and they also have 150gb for $70, if you are lucky enough to have adsl2. it's not that f###ing hard!!! take a look at whirlpool.com.au (i'll come back to clarify the site) edit: http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/bc/ ![]() and as for the d/l clubs, i've been doing that for ages. why double up on things if you don't have to. then you get heaps more shows than you normally would. |

i'm with westnet, active 1.5mbps plan option 4 with phone - see http://www.westnet.com.au/internet/broadband/ ![]() i'm bummed i lost my dodo unlimited plan when i moved interstate. i was paying about the same, had the same speed and had no restrictions. unfortunately they no longer do unlimited :-( however, after doing some extensive research i found westnet to be the best on offer (it has longer "offpeak" hours than some others). the "big boys" (tesltra, optus etc) tend to be the worst because they rely on people not bothering to look around. hope you can find something better. good luck :-) |
