day break, which took lost's time slot when lost started it's never ending
hiatus, looks to be on the verge of cancellation. abc recently announced their
new wednesday night schedule and it looks something like this:

8:00 - george lopez
8:30 - according to jim
9:00 - knights of prosperity
9:30 - in case of emergency
10:00 - lost

as noted earlier today, the big news here is that lost will be moving to 10pm.
what is being overlooked, however, is that day break has no place in that
schedule. the show's current time slot (9pm) is being overtaken by knights of
prosperity and in case of emergency on january 3rd. day break will still have
five un-aired episodes at that point. will they move day break to a different
time?

there may be no point, considering that day break has received dismally low
ratings thus far. given the amount of time and money abc has spent promoting
the series, however, it seems awfully odd that abc wouldn't at least let it
finish out its modest 13-week run.

it is worrying for any day break fans - the eight episodes planned to air
through to the end of december will go ahead but after that is anyone's guess.
abc hasn't made any announcement on it.

my guess is that, with a show the nature of day break, they would have saved a
lot of money by filming all episodes as close together as possible. after all,
we are talking about a show where the same things happen over and over. so i'd
expect they have all 13 episodes in the can and we will therefore get to see the
end of the series somehow. whether that be on abc, on the net or from another
country next year i don't know.

this schedule will begin in feb-14-2007 or later.

until this date, day break will run 13 episodes. no episode jan-24-2007. and
final episode feb-07-2007 9 pm (et), follow by lost episode 307 "not in
portland".

lost will begin in february, but not the other two.

"abc will kick off the new year with the premieres of the innovative new
comedies the knights of prosperity and in case of emergency on wednesday,
january 3. the knights of prosperity will air at 9:00 p.m., et, followed by in
case of emergency at 9:30 p.m., et."

there is still gonna be that nice open timeslot moved to 10pm after january
3rd.... it looks like day break will likely be handling the actual time-slot
switch that is intended for lost... and lost will just pick up the new slot
after day break is done in february.

just because the timeslot moves, does not mean there is a lack of a timeslot for
day break to air in..
