i don't like the days-of-our-lives scenes when they are back on earth, and especially when they put
that pathetic annoying piano pingeling over it, i find it so unbearable that i started
fast-forwarding through it, and that is half the show.
not that i'm impressed with the rest of it either of course, it's a ship of fools and after watching
the episodes so far i have yet to see a character i identify with in any way or develop a sympathy
for at any level, it's a dinky production in my view. but i'm starved for some space-based scifi dammit.

how about a little " politeness " before we return to having the forums shut down due to "not
playing nice " .
on the show -
i cant shake the feeling that this many episodes in and it still feels like i"m waiting for it to -
get going -.
it dosnt seem to have the fast pace punch of sg1 or the quick quippiness (i made that word up ) of
sga .
its feeling much more soap opera in space .
and what was with the individuals doing the video diary ?
thought i was watching star-gate defying gravity merge ,glad they seem to have pulled back on that .
time for the ship to bump into some mean aliens and liven the show up methinks

sgu has a simple problem: they somehow have to get destiny under control, to some extent. they just
can't continue the "ship does what it wants and every now and then we get a 12(? don't remember)
hour window to visit a planet" forever. sure, they can bring back lots of aliens, diseases and
stuff, but... or they could have lots of ideas to try out how to get back to earth, but... and above
all, they have millions of systems that can break down needing some awesomely dangerous way to fix
them. did i forget to add a "but" on the last thing? my bad... but it has to be there as well.
they also started killing people, which is something they can't do forever as well. i'm sure there
is an official statement on the number of people on the ship -- so once all the non-essentialls have
died, left behind by not making it back to the gate in time or stayed on the planet voluntarily
they'll no longer be able to present an actual danger. maybe for a few times, but they'll have to
announce that someone is going to leave the show or else everybody would just watch the episode
expecting that nobody is going to die, and be surprised if they actually do kill an essential in the
end.
basically, something has to happen to give them more control over destiny (as well as destiny, for
that matter), or this is going to be a short show.
note that atlantis had the "limited resources" problem as well, but a) they were on a mission that
was actually planned as a "no return for an unknown timespan"-type of thing, and b) they eventually
established links back to earth. so what happens if destiny can link them back to earth? everyone
going home, and destiny being run by regular sg personel? so i'm not sure we'll get to see a
connection to earth anytime soon.
i would also like them to keep the basic idea that the sg guys in general are the good guys, despite
being military. portraying the ioc guy as being evil is ok, they have always been evil politicians.
you don't need sgc turn generally evil just to make destiny look better.

seriously i thought this was a step back from ep 6 (due to the return of days of our lives on earth
from space or whatever) they have honestly got to pick this show up from its gutter before it hits
midseason (being very generous) or i'm out.
