heroes

happy new year 2007. why are our ip # being reported for d/l eps of heroes? i
got a very nasty call from my isp about d/l copyrighted material and threaten to
stop my sevices. how safe is this site anybody has any suggestions. dont they
give this out for free on the tv and what about the ppls with tivo. i just dont
get it on this one.
p.s. dont state the obvious like watch it on tv i cant my comp is my tivo.
thanks to the admin ppls of this site and all the others that provide us with
what we like. i feel like my privacy was invaded what can we do to fight this
greed in this world.

well i believe the site is safe, and i believe they can check ip's if they
need to ban anyone, but i don't think they store them. if anything it could be
a torrent realised by the network (or someone working for the network).

yes, you can watch it for 'free' on the tv, but nothing is actually free...
you get adverts with tv, that is how they get their money, so if you aren't
watching on the tv it affects their rating, and therefore the money they can
charge for adverts...

i wonder if the networks would mind so much if the cappers left the adverts in
the rleases. if this meant downloading copyrighted material became more legit,
i for one wouldnt mind getting a show with ads on it.

maybe this is what the cappers should do to legitamise things themsleves
before somebody pulls the plug on the whole downloading thing.

over here the bbc, who arent funded by advertising, are about to release all
of their content for free via this new azereus programme, as well as over the
web through their i-player software, altough i believe this will only be
available to uk ip addresses.

i think by leavin the ads in, the networks may even be able to make more money
from selling their advertising slots cos they will reach so many more people.

would anyone else mind getting adverts in their downloads if it meant we dont
get nasty letters!

bear in mind the knock on effects of dowloading tv + movies havent really been
seen yet, but are bound to affect the industry, as it has with music
downloading. we may regret all this land grab for dloadong tv if it means the
death of some areas of the industry a few yrs down the line.

that said, i bloody love downloading - i watch and listen to stuff i never
wouldve given the chance had i not been given free access to it.
