Port trouble

i use azureus on a standard imac g5 with a cable modem with no switches or hubs. somehow i cannot get
speed exceeding 2-5 kb although i am changing ports from 6889, 30921 or 65000. does anyone have an
idea what i can do to increase download speed? appreciate all help!

ports have nothing to do with it and no way this question can be answered here
