i was wondering if anyone knows of plans to cap and upload the upcoming
(starting tonight) airing of the science fiction show jake 2.0 on the sci fi
channel over the next month(ish)? the fun but campy show was cancelled back in
2002 and never released on dvd, with three episodes that never aired.
currently, the only torrents of this show available are from broadcasts in the
uk that are of not-so-great sound/video quality or dubbed in other languauges.
instead of airing widescreen, the show was squished so that everyone looked
freakishly tall and thin. sci fi seems to be going with pan and scan instead
but at least everyone looks normal.

the show was active so they must be out there some where (back in the
tvtorrent and btefnet days)

ha ha that is a true wide screen broadcast. this is how widescreen tvs work they
take the pic and strech the lines out to fill the screen . 4/3 letter box are
the ones with black bars at top and bottom were you need to zoom in to fill the
screen. these are what you want. the caper uses software to remove these black
bars before storing as an avi file.
proper widescreen broadcasts dont use letterbox format.

thanks for the thought but that's the copy i already have with the weird quality
(maybe i should double check my codecs and try again...even as odd as they are,
they are totally watchable for anyone who missed the unaired episodes which were
great). but maybe someone else will find them now who wanted to watch them
before and didn't think to look there so you kind of rule for posting. i'll be
checking mininova over the next month to see if anyone decides to grab the
airings of the show on sci fi. thanks everyone else who was interested in the
show too.
