Supply NFO's with torrents

please supply nfo's with your torrents as with the original scene releases, bt
chat even has a special link for them, and to copy/paste them is like 3 seconds
work 😉

as u've already been told (by an admin) most ppl don't need .nfo's since they
don't contain anything important
see u in a few weeks when u'll ask again for rars

those nfo's are everywhere.... google it, nforce it... join an scenetorrent site
etc...

all you got to do is look a bit around... it's the www, (i)nfo is everywhere 🙂

anyway here's my pro nfo arguments:

- they don't have to be supplied with the actual release (i mean they will unrar
the scene release here anyway because the want the single .avi minus sample +
nfo) but they have it since their source is always a scene release

- i store my shows with nfo's to keep track of them more easily: they can
contain info about tech details, reasons why it was a proper (in case of proper)
and/or the show itself

- it makes this site look more "professional". ok maybe 90% of the ppl don't
care about nfo's, but 90% also don't care about the release group tag...should
that be stripped also?


- to copy/paste them here or @ bt-chat takes like 3 seconds

edit: like some ppl stated before me: you can get the nfo somewhere else is not
a valid argument imo. all i want to know is why it isn't supplied here, as it
obviously doesn't take a lot of work... at least for the ppl who uploaded the
releases on the other sites 😉

why are they not supplied? because they are not, as simple as that.

i also fail to see how it makes this website look more professional, are you
forgetting eztv is a tv distro. site not nfo?

we won't be releasing nfos. there is no need to have them on our site, it
creates even more bandwidth (even small as it is, it adds up) and in your
example of propers, people post up info on the forum anyway, so it doesn't
really matter.

if the 10% of people that want nfos will more than likely know places to get
them. they are not required here.

dunno what they are...., but can we please get fries and shake included with
the torrents please

whats an nfo anyway i have heard of them but never thought about it

glorified wordpad doc. listing all the tech stuff about format, source, size,
codec, bitrates etc and the scene group etc (i hope)

and why do we need this for?

well if the nfo contains any particularly useful information they are often
posted on the thread for the release.

not sure if you were suggesting we include the nfo in the torrent, but that
would not be 3 seconds work since our release system is currently based around
just having one file in each torrent.
