i just tried joining and was unable to. but after waiting a few minutes i got
lucky and got in. im not to thrilled with the site....
wait times
only certain members can upload.
all torrents are in rar format.
only 5500 max members.
all these things make it almost impossible to have a good ratio and to see
something i have to unrar it to watch/use it and keep the rar's to seed it so
it takes double the space. its just like torrent damage. oh well. atleast i
got this site, oink, uknova, and bitmetv. the other dozens of sites are almost
pointless.

i am a member of this site... and maintain a positive ratio - what is so hard
about seeding for 36hrs or until 1:1?

small, private sites are better than the big ones - you get better speed. and -
fyi - pretty much all scene releases are in rar format. this way at least you
know they're genuine (i.e. download the nfo or sample first).

my problem is, as curb71 said, it's all rar, so it's double the space when all
you need is the one avi file, had this been a public site, the rar files would
deleted immediately after extracting the video file from it.. and the download
speeds may be good, but the upload speed has never gone over 5 for me, which
makes it even harder.

but i guess it's alright if you don't want to wait for the public sites to get
them

i've actually found sceneaccess one of the harder ones to build up a ratio on. its not as bad as uknova but
its still up there. i don't mind that its rar'd i don't see the point in it from a torrent perspective, but its not
a big deal for me, but it defiantely is trickier to get a decent upload, the rules can seemed to designed to
prevent new users getting a decent upload amount. the wait times mean you can't get on a popular torrent
when its popular, so by the time you can download it you are almost the only other person after it, and the
small user limit just amplifies that effect, and you have to be selective about what you download for the
ratio, which makes it harder to boost the upload amount.

its a good site, with very very fast access, to files, and once you have a decent upload amount and ratio
you can get things at really good rate, its just a matter of getting to that point.

the reason it's such a pita to get a 1:1 share ratio at uknova is twofold.
first off, a good number of people are going for the top 10 uploaders
category, and they're on rediculously fast connections. the torrent swarm
prioritzes data from them rather than you. secondly, if anyone on the
torrent goes above a 1:1 ratio, somebody else on the torrent must stay below
a 1:1 ratio. it's that simple. tons of people go above a 1:1. so the
only way to consistently break even is to jump on it as soon as it comes out.
if you're late, then you're gonna have to join one of those *bumped* swarms
where the thing keeps going for months, like qi or hignfy and build your
ratio on that.
