i don't know macs very well but on a whim i just googled mac torrent and found a
few links about mac p2p clients and the like. perhaps you could find the info
you need in one of those?

use azureus to download and vlc player to view. they both work great on a mac. i'm running on 10.4.8
too. you can google them to get the web sites.

yeah, get azureus or something.

but first...get a *real* pc :]

apple is the coolest company.... if you did not already do watch steven jobs
keynote address at macworld presenting the new spectacular iphone.... boys i
want one but gotta wait till fall that it makes it to europe.

jobs is a hack. he has no bearing whatsoever on the coolness of apple products.
he gets to ride high on the perceived wow! factor and
look-at-me-im-hip-i-buy-apple stuff. that and their promotional consideration
for all us tv... well them or dell lately... blah </rant>

well as a long time mac user, i can help you out my friend. both bittorrent
and azerus clients are available for macs. a quick google serach will give you
the sites to download them from.

the player listed above (vlc is it...i can't remember) works ok on macs. the
video tends to get choppy. might be my machine, but i use quicktime.
quicktime has codecs for divx, xvid, and ac3 audio. another google search for
those will give you what you need.

when you are burning discs, use toast from roxio. they are the best for macs.

isquint works perfect for ipod formatted videos.

mac the ripper is the best for dvd rips.

and lastly, handbreak will convert your dvd rips to divx or xvid for you, via
ffmpeg.

hope that helps you out. let me know if you need more help.

i have been using a mac for years and have tried azureus, bittorrent and transmition.

azureus is the worst thing to run on a mac, i have a g4 1.5 running 10.4.8, and it was using 80-90% of
my cup, it takes forever to load and quit and the torrents went very slow.

i found transmition and bitorrent to be the better ones, my favorite is bitorrent juste because i got used to
it and the torrents always go to it's best speed (100-300 on a 3 meg dsl connection)

look on versiontracker.com for downloads.

:)

yeah i'd have agree with the last couple posts... my pcs have been quite
stable for ages. funny how 'apple-ites' love to use old propoganda.

i know, coz i have been an 'ambi-dexterious' user, macs and pcs.
it's all personal taste and pcs won me over a while ago.

happy trails and hope you find the sware you need my friend, i'm sure you will.
may i suggest checking out freemacware for sware you need.

cheers
