thank dog...i thought i had slipped into bizarro land. i can only imagine how the brits would have done this show about 5 years ago. little mosque has such a great idea, the ads were funny...but it just sucked. you can see how they took the approach of "lets mix the kumars with something canadian. bob and doug? can't do back bacon and beer, that would get us in trouble. what about corner gas, it must be popular, hasn't it been on the air for a couple of seasons? i wouldn't know...i don't actually watch tv. sounds like we have a plan!" it just was not funny. |

"cbc and great sitcom are opposite words that should never be used together..." corner gas is a good cbc sitcom, but it is certainly not the glossy high budget/low quality type of show that we canadians are used to from us networks. |

to comment on just the title, a rip off of little house, that's not cool. michael landon was a good man. don't be makin fun of pa. admin edit: political rant removed. keep discussion to the quality of the rip and episode. |

as someone that is not a muslim and does not know much about your faith, i would guess that the more conservative one is, the bigger the chance would be for that person to find this show offensive. it seemed to be about people and how people may have different beliefs, but good people are the same no matter what the religion. it wasn't that great of a show. as far as quality goes, i'd rate it higher than "10 items or less" but it's on that kind of level. but, it seems to have tons of potential. i'll be downloading it each week because i get the feeling that it's going to get much better. i really hope that you do watch it and then post again and tell us what you think about it. i would absolutely love to hear your opinion as a muslim! since it might be a spoiler, perhaps in a different thread marked as a spoiler or maybe in the forums on imdb? |

hehe i love this show, i think it was quite funny the least, but it does re-inforce the world-wide view that americans are the single most paranoid people on the face of the planet, plz u.s.- for all our sakes \"chill out dudes\" |

the show is set in canada, not the us. all this shows is that the division between city people and small town people is pretty universal. the thing that came to me when i was watching this is "hey, they have republicans in canada too!" |

wow. i was just going to make a light joke like "you mean muslims wear shoes?" thats quite funny... well, on all of your opinions i have decided to download... i'm sure at this present time most tv companies will stay clear of anything to upset muslims or any other religious group. and i will deffo reply with my comments on what i think, dont expect too much as many 1st episodes on any program seem to be 'slow'.... now, on a totally different topic...i need heroes! |

corner gas is a ctv production, and has nothing to do with the cbc...which is why it has a chance of being funny. if you want an example of a good cbc comedy you probably have to go back to the newsroom. |
