i know how to make torrents and have in the past but i was wondering what client
do eztv uploaders use to make torrents?
i ask because eztv torrents have never had those people getting stuck at 99.9%
problems. i haven't had that issue but want to ensure i don't encounter it.

the problem with ppl getting stuck at 99.9% is probably not caused by the
torrents, but by the seeders which jump of the torrents when 99.9% is completed.

if they put up a fake torrent, that is an excelent way to make ppl waste their
bandwith.

stuff i've seen on private trackers is one guys torrents, he would be seeding
but sometimes no one could get past 99.9% even though he was still seeding.

that is usually a torrent client issue, if you recheck the torrent you will see
that it is fine..

otherwise it is something to do with the seeders.

the creation of the .torrent does not really affect this in any way.

the problem of being stuck at 99.9% also is often a problem on the client end,
because of using a poorly coded client... it was always a very common problem in
bitcomet and bitlord, and a few others..

this is specifically one of the reasons why anybody that has been in the game
for a long time recommends that there are only two real clients to choose from,
azureus and utorrent...
this is also one of the reasons why many private tracker sites disallow said
crappy clients..

in closing... use utorrent or azureus.... it seriously makes no sense at all to
use any other client..

can't say i've ever had any problems with bittornado, it doesnt have dht but
it works perfect for any torrents with good trackers. other than that i
recommend utorrent over azureus which i find slow and bloated.

recently, i have heard this from other torrent sites. "...recommend that you
avoid the following clients:

* utorrent
* azerus

these clients do not report correctly to the tracker when canceling/finishing a
torrent session. if you use them then a few mb may not be counted towards the
stats near the end, and torrents may still be listed in your profile for some
time after you have closed the client.

also, clients in alpha or beta version should be avoided. "

i have used bittornado for years and never had a problem. it does not take up
much as far as system resources. it does not come with any spyware or adware.
i have noticed a slim few sites ban it but i have yet to find a valid reason for
that. if anyone knows more about why bittornado might be banned from sites,
please fill me in. thanks.

funny - the sites i am a member of say the following:

may i use any bittorrent client?

yes. the tracker now updates the stats correctly for all bittorrent clients.
however, we still recommend that you avoid the following clients:

looks to me like you just removed the bittorrent / novatorrent and added
azureus and utorrent.... i have had no problems with either of
these "reporting to the tracker" on private sites

you don't know me. you don't know what kind of person i am. i am not the kind
of person that would even think of such a thing, and as many folks are more than
well aware of, usually the person who is the accuser is the person who done did it.

google search wwt that's the site i found the faq i re'fd at. why don't you
tell me what site you found your faq ref at?

i was just asking a question looking for verification and information. why you
had to come up in here and start being all accusatory i don't know, however i
most certainly do not appreciate your twisting my post.

as to bittornado not sharing well, i don't see how that can be, considering my
share rating on demonoid and wwt.

okay so now anyone else impartial who has any intel for me on the best torrent
client/worst torrent client, and can verify their intel, please feel free to
message me. thanks in advance! :d

update here is what demonoid faq has to say about it.

"please do not use bitcomet, bitlord and its derivatives. they cause your ratio
to be misreported, and cause transfer troubles."

and their recommended clients...

windows clients

+ abc (yet another bittorrent client)
+ bitbuddy (formerly known as btvampire)
+ bittornado (theshad0w's experimental)
+ the original bittorrent client (by bram cohen)
+ utorrent

linux clients

+ abc (yet another bittorrent client)
+ bittornado (theshad0w's experimental)
+ the original bittorrent client (by bram cohen)

macintosh clients

+ bits on wheels
+ the original bittorrent client (by bram cohen)
+ tomato torrent

java clients

+ azureus
+ bt queue

from more internet research it sounds like java clients and those python ones
are resource hogs. abc is a 'liter' version of bittornado, both of which are
based on the original bittorrent client (by bram cohen). bitcomet and bitlord
are not.
