i read it depends on how recent your firmware is if packed bitstream poses a problem or not, i would wager yours might be an older player or a new player with an older firmware version as i have an older player ( a few years old) that packed bs plays ok on. however it is reported that this does pose a problem on many other standalones. in any case, if you use your computer to watch it, it's a non-issue. |

i have yet to watch it, but i have hopes that it will be a good addition to my sci-fi/fantasy viewing. information on the show from the futon critic... http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx?id=20070121  ...additional info from the tvrage... http://www.tvrage.com/shows/id-7360 a little on the critical side of it, but it won't color my judgment since i like to make up my own mind. i was looking for the rating numbers for the show, but i can only pull up the commercially supported networks (ie: nbc, fox... etc), here is the link for sunday in case anyone is interested. http://www.thefutoncritic.com/ratings.aspx?id=sunday i have no affiliations with the sites but find it very useful in finding out information about the shows i like. if anyone has more sites to add, that cover a broad range please feel free and let me know; being a television addict is a hard thing to support  thanks for reading my post hope it helps someone k ps: i didn't know if posting links to help with info was wrong... i'll have to look that up, but hope its ok. |

the books are very good imho. the premise is quite solid, and if done well should be brilliant. think of a more serious/adult buffy and thats the books, hopefully the series will follow suit. |
