Low volume - 24 HR releases

is it just me, or are this season's 24 episodes in hr very low volume? i
mean, i have the volume turned to max and it is still too low? i have 2
desktop speakers. is it because they are 5.1 sound? all other tv shows, all
in standard hdtv format, don't suffer from this problem. any solutions?

that's a common issue with some ac3 encoding and playback codec combos.

many codec installers will have an install-time volume boost option, or a
control panel to bump it up later.

or you can just turn up the volume as you watch the episodes.

ya, eps with 5.1 audio tend to be quieter.

thanks all. anyway, i had the volume up to the max kurai, and it was still
too low. i have solved the problem though, i switched from wmp to vlc player
for the 5.1 releases, and vlc player has independant volume controls. thanks
again for the help.
