Please Help me to find a program to protect me from bad isp's..

hello everyone..

you have helped me before with all sorts of things so i'm goner ask again for
you help please..

i'm using u-torrent v1.6.1 beta and have that ip filter i got from mininova.
the torrent said it was built for u-torrent so i keep that updated.
i also have peerguardian 2 but for the last week the p2p part of the update has
been telling me no update available.
these are 2 programs i have always used in the past.
*not sure how good they are if at all*
what do you use and what would you say is a good program to use to protect
yourself.
i know if they want to find you they more than likely can.
i would just like to make it as hard as possible for anyone to send me bad data.
i'm not sure what to call this type of program i just know it as a type of ip
filter.
would love to know what you think of this type of program and if they work.
is it safer to use these 2 programs (peerguardian 2 & u-torrent ip filter).
or are they not worth having them on my pc.

pg2 is a good little program imo. apparently there is a problem with the hosting
for the blocklists, but i think u can d/l them from alternate sources. take a
look on forums.phoenixlabs.org for more info. hth :>

i'm using pg2 at the moment but i thought i had read somewere that pg2 may not
protect you as much as you may think as someone in the managment wasn't to be
trusted so a few people left.
it was a while ago just as the new pg2 was coming out.
so i was hopeing to find other programs to run with as well as pg2 and the
utorrent ip filter.

but thanks for the info on what they are called (blocklist) i will have a look
around.
just needed somewere to start.

i have been looking for a post i posted a few days ago have been having a few
problems with my connection just now and wasn't able to get on line for any
amount of time to do anything.

today it seems ok so i'm trying to reply to the post but haven't been able to
find it.

i came across this post i posted before just to let you know i'm using
peerguardian2 and a program could protowall as well now.

it seems hard to install and i cannot find a way to update it.
maybe it updates its self but i'm not sure i would like to make sure i update
it my self just then i know it has been done that's all.
also (bluetack.co.uk) have something they call a (blocklist manager) program
you use to keep protowall & peerguardian2 with the help of (blocklist manager)
program updated i haven't managed to get it all working yet but form what im
reading it seems very manual and could more than likely block half of the
internet if you use all their (blacklists) they have on the site.

i will let you know if i find anything else.
