Help with RSS - Forums - EZTV - TV Torrents Online

hi all, love eztv - just great!!

i'm new to using rss and i have to say the tutorial didnt' help :<
i'm using (micro)torrent 1.6 which supports rss feeds. however, i don't know
what a feed is (apart from it appears to be an .xml file on a given webpage).
i cannot find any such .xml file on this site - would someone be kind enough
to give me (and others?) an idiot guide to setting up a feed with any given
series???

firstly, thanks aydin1954 for coming back so quick.
what you say fits in with my guess of how to set it up.
i added 3 shows to my shows.
in (micro)torrent i created a feed called
http://thesprawl.se/main/myshows.rss?user_id=30722

thereafter, i have tried every combination of filter to provoke an actual
download.
ie. under rss downloader / favourites, i added *24* etc...
no matter what i put in, or if i tell the software to update feeds (normally
it does this every 15 mins anyway) i don\'t seem to be able to cause any
download to take place?????

am i doing something really stupid??

feed leave (all)

check episodes and put in like the example seasonxfirstepisode-lastepisode

to do a test put it to point to older episodes... then once you see that it
works put it to point to upcoming ones...

for lastepisode maybe 99 so is open ended unless there is another way to say it
which i do not know...

i would also click the smart episode option so that it downloads one given
episode only one time.

i did the setting you suggested. i assumed when you said point to older
episodes you meant i.e. 2x1-99 to get the older episodes of this series.
i did this but nothing provokes a download (utorrent works fine as a normal
downloader). i note there is no way of clicking apply or ok to changes, only
close. i also assume that update now in releases forces an attempt to
download, but whatever i do, nothing is appearing in eitehr history, releases,
or within utorrent itself....aggggggg!!!

could someone please explain a little about using "not" in filters, and give
an example of how to use it and where to place it. i would like to do as you
say, not get hr and 720p versions.

(is there a website anywhere with all this info on? i search google using lots
of different options but couldn't find any good sites to tell me anything.)

hi all, especially aydin (who has been helping me by e-mail.

i finally figured out the problem i was having. i am using privoxy as a local
host on my computer. this causes no problems in contacting trackers via
http. however, it will not download rss feeds - at all (i.e. dispite having
valid feed addresses, nothing appears in releases (within utorrent client).

once, i turned off the proxy, all the episodes appeared.

once again, thanks to aydin - your help was great.
last question - anyone know how to keep my proxy on and still get rss feeds,
either in utorrent or azureus?

i use the tor system as an anonymous proxy - it ensures that my ip address
isn't broadcast to those who would like to see it!! it would seem to be this
that is causing a problem with the rss feed?
