NBS hr.hdtv rips sound issues

hello,

the latest nbs hr.hdtv rips all have this strange issue when i play them:

at every commercial break cut i get some quirky sound after which the volume
gets extremely low. it can temporarily be fixed be rewinding or forwording the
video for about a second, but with the next commercial break the problems come
back again.

i noticed that with prison.break.s02e15.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-nbs.avi,
prison.break.s02e16.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-nbs.avi and
heroes.s01e14.hr.hdtv.ac3.5.1.xvid-nbs.avi.

since i haven't seen anyone else complain about that yet i was wondering if
it's just on my machine. maybe i need to fix my codecs.

so does anyone else have these problems with the mentioned episodes?

it's generally to do with the way the encodes have been segmented.
the audio normalisation curves get fucked up.

some players cope with or adjust to this better than others :
i.e. have their own `internal` normalisation filters going...
but that can cause problems too :
i.e. if there is a big volume difference between a very quiet and a very loud
scene, then the normalisation flattens out a difference that was deliberate.
