What's the most common way to get an .avi file to "host/seed"?

hi guys 🙂

new to the forums, but i've benefited from the downloads for some time now. as
i have a pretty fast computer and connection i'd like to help seed some shows
and perhaps upload a few of my favorites as well (if not here then on torrent
sites in general)

my question is...how do you guys get the .avi file to begin with?

there are several ways i can think of...tv capture card, direct tv/tivo are
the two off the top of my head.

but i was wondering what the community thinks is the "best" way to get a show
ready and do it 🙂

if there is a link that goes into this plz point me in the right direction. or
if you have the time or the inclination to explain a bit to me here that would
be wonderful as well 🙂

ok...just read the faq heh, and that answered a lot of my questions about the
eztv group procedures. but i'd still like to know what you think is the best
way to "get" a show into the .avi format and ready to seed would be.

i believe most people use a tv capture card. i've heard the hague pagues
(spelling?) are nice. you can get a pretty nice piece of software to handle the
captures for free, it's called myth tv.
