i appreciate how much more difficult it must be to actually read the name of
existing threads and then open them to investigate the contents, rather than
just blindly start a brand new thread.
perhaps the admins should implement some sort of forum index page where
threads that have new replies have their titles displayed prominently in a
kind of list manner, so that people would be able to discover them.
oh ... wait ...

that would be nice, but in the prior instance wholly uneccessary.
the other almost identically titled thread was just a handful of lines below
the new one.
there's also no guarantee that if he/she couldn't read the forum index page
he/she couldn't read search results either 😉
