what to you use to burn and convert your files

not all avi.s are created with divx/xvid codec versions compatible with the
hardware's, and some compatible codec version encodes are done with non-
standard weird settings that upset many divx capable players.

the only solution for the problem files is to try and get codec updates for
your player kit or, if that doesn't work, then re-encode the files yourself to
a standardised xvid/divx, or transcode them and burn as a dvd spec mpeg-2 disc.

just a thought..

you could get some re-writables i got some and they where 650meg but now i have
some 700meg 1's now.
you wouldn't waste any more disk's that way.

may be download divx codec (free 1) from (divx.com).
that may sort out a problem.
but with codecs you can have so many different problems it's hard to give a
quick answer to your problem.

if its stuff from here your downloading then stick with the 350meg versions of
the things your after that way most of the stuf you get from here are done to a
code (well sort of) (xvid with mp3 sound) but if your getting stuf from other
sites like mininova where the file come from all walks of life the codecs used
can be anything.

most people doing a film @ 700meg and a tv episode @ 350meg will use xvid maybe
even divx. these codecs should be ok on most divx/mp4 players.

but even with xvid i have had problems when i do i re-encode them with (dr
divx) or (auto gk) both free programs and easy to use.

so i hope this helps if you didn't already know this.

like i said before get some re-writables i have saved a lot of disks that way.
they last ages and you can get 2 350meg tv episodes or 1 700meg film on a disk
that way.
even re-writables dvds have saved me money and disks too.
i think they are well worth their money.

well bye for now (si)(uk) :-)

sounds like you need to update your xbmc (to get latest codecs) presuming
that's what you're running. my mate has chipped xbox + latest xbmc and plays
everything i throw at it.
