i just moved from bitcomet to azureus because there was no rss support in
bitcomet, but azureus is downloading very very slowwwwwwwwwwwwwww. i maybe have
seen it download a file above 50kb/s but with bitcomet i was usually a lot
higher like the 110-200+ speeds. is this normal for azureus? i am using the new
3.0 and have vista business on my rig so i might try the latest 2.5 build.

there are a large number of azureus speed faqs around, which shouldn't be too
hard to find (linked off the azureus pages, or 3rd party ones via google), but
they will all generally agree on a couple of basic things for most gain.

1) make sure your uplink speed isn't saturated.

2) make sure you have a sensible limit for number of peers/connections that
your router and/or network card driver can cope with.

tell us the specs of your internet line, and we might be able to suggest some
reasonable numbers for best performance tuning.

i already went through those guides and faqs but still only getting around 5kb/s
average dl speed and thats only having two active torrents. i might just have
to go back to bitcomet and manually download my torrents. i had peer guardian
running because i got an email from my isp for copyright bullshit but even after
disabling it there was no performance gain.

my line specs:

5mbit dl
768k up

i have five other computers on my lan but none of them are using torrents/p2p
software.
