qfe, this really shouldn't be in the news on the homepage, it should be moved to the regular forums,
but it is based on the cappers not the distributors there isn't much eztv can do about this.
i too have noticed quite a difference in audio levels of late, though for me it is more with the 2
channel stereo rips. 720p rips with 5.1 audio are fine for me, but sometimes 720p with ac3 2.0
audio is very low in volume.
for me it happens 100% of the time i download high-def episodes or movies. on my lg tv, a standard
definition show is watchable at level 10-13, while if it's 720p or 1080p i have to crank it up to
35-45 to listen to the dialogues. of course that means that when there are action scenes the
explosions and bullets almost make my ears explode, but that's another topic.
yes, i too have noticed this problem. i watched game of thrones and had to ramp up the volume then
watched continuum and quickly had to lower the volume significantly.
same problem for me with 720p mkv's.... dialogue is often quiet, action is too loud .... as a
workaround, my samsung tv has an "auto volume" option which helps compress the audio on the fly
during scenes of intense volume: commercials, action, explosions, etc... perhaps some of your tv's
have a feature like this too?
i cannot see why this is not news, because if not it gets hidden in the forum where we have been talking
about this before, so tops for who ever put this in the news section.
i have total respect for the scene guys and everyone else who spends time giving us these torrents,
but i have noticed that some shows have pretty bad sound issues. why on some of the top shows in
720p have we lost 5.1 sound, i thought we are moving into the future not the past. surly these
sounds issues can be sorted when there being encoded before they go up for torrent.
i think it's the format or, rather, the type of rip associated with the format. i have the exact same issue
with some .mkv format 720p like got, mad men and the walking dead.
