i'm really just testing the waters with this comment, but it's a minor thing
that's been bugging me recently. comments threads over the past few weeks have
been increasingly filled with 'thank you from (insert country)!!!114' posts and
very little else. while showing your appreciation is a great thing, stuff like
those posts is intended for a shoutbox, as it drowns out any real discussion
about the episode. it's increasingly hard to find discussion about the quality
of the show (rip and content), the season, any torrent/tracker issues, or
various conversations by fans. so, let's improve the signal-to-noise ratio, and
make the posts that are here count. i'm not looking for eztv to become a huge,
sprawling forum site, just keep it tight and keep the relevant information close
to hand. opinions?

agreed!!! totally.
there is little that annoys me more than having to sprawl through 20 'thank
you from england, australia, india, japan, usa, hanging gardens of babylon'
comments to find out if the episode has been nuked or not.

your complaining that people thank eztv for the programmes ?

really ? if posting thanks for the upload was a problem,
dont you think the admins would have said something ?

in regards to finding information about the rip quality
imho i havent seen a poor quality on eztv

anyway as this is just my opinion i think what you have said is really
unimportant

just my 2p 🙂

its not that the thanking eztv is a problem, its the fact that its turned into
a competition to see who can represent their country first.
179 comments of 'thanks from ??' is just unnecessary.
and if youve never had a bad rip from this marvelous site then you really
should start gambling more because you are one lucky sob.
propers and repacks would be a thing of the past if there was no such thing as
a bad rip.

there's three propers/repacks on the front page alone *right now*, so the
necessity of discussing the episodes is pretty obvious. and i'm not saying that
the comments should go away (i specifically state that "showing your
appreciation is a great thing" ), i'd much rather see them moved to a shoutbox.
it could be implemented as an automatic sub-thread with each episode and show up
in a corner of the comments page. i'm not advocating removal, just separating
the actual conversation from the shout-outs.

i remember the days when i used to use btefnet.net ( or something like that )
and a 'proper ' / 'repack ' etc was unheard of. *sighs*

and i don't wholly disagree with the points raised about 30 messages of '
thanks '. must be a better way of showing gratitude. maybe each torrent could
have its own forum entry and there could be a ' thankyou ' button within each
one that you could just click ? that make sense ?

ye but its like your wanting the website to be designed to your personal taste..
i do see your point tho.. and i agree their should be a thank you button:)

agreed! i love eztv, and appreciate the hell out of them, but i am tired of
pages and pages of thank-yous.

that being said... thanks! (ironic, i know).

i'm one of the thankers & i'm from belgium.

if i could find any way to say how glad i am that i don't have to wait lets say
2 years to see good stuff on the networks here, like donating money, helping out
with the site, being a huge seeder, i would.

but i can't do those things so i say:
thank you for the series,
the shows i'm loving,
thanks for all the joy you bring me,
'couldn't live without you
i tell in all honesty
what would i be,
without eztv & my pc
so i say thank you for the series,
for giving them to me.

p.s. i take a not so perfect ep now over a perfect ep in 2 years any given day...

i think the thing is there is different opinions on the use of the comments on
torrents. what evil timmy wants it to be used for is knowing about the rip not
what happened or that people are thank full we all know we are thank full. so i
dont think its a bad thing say thanks but it kinda of hides the important
information so a thanks button would do the job.

btw you can visit sites such as scenereleases.com/tv/ to see if a show was nuked.

a thanks button would be great.

some threads (lword to name but a few) is just one long "thanks from
azerbijan!" list. while it is good to say thank you (because of the work put in
by this site, the groups who cap, the seeders, etc) it just gets impossible to
scroll through page after page after page of comments - potentially missing,
"why is everyone saying thanks when you've not watched it like me, and found
out half the episode is muted?!"

if there is a page of "thanks" above me, i tend not to add to it. i add to the
smaller threads, anyway, so it's not like i'm ungrateful 🙂

i don't think he's doing anything of the sort. he's offering a suggestion to
improve the site, and a much needed one at that. it would be great if there was
a way to separate the thank yous from the comments on quality so that when there
is a problem with a show, bandwidth can be saved. it used to be that if you saw
comments on a show, you would know to read the comments before starting the
download because the file might be messed up.

thankyou ! i'm glad at least you got it. it was only a suggestion and nothing
more. personally i use vcdquality and orlydb to see whether an episode has been
nuked or not and i usually wait a day or so before downloading to save doing it
twice. there's nothing wrong with saying thanks and i'm sure a lot of hardwork
goes into this site with no financial reward. i'm really not that bothered
about it. i just thought a button would save on the 30+ messages of thanks '
from khazistan ' or where-ever that stifle any genuine conversation etc in the
forums.
