XBox Media Center

everyone keeps going on about xvid dvd players and usb compatible dvd
players...however i believe an xbox is a much better investment...

now feel free to correct me where i'm wrong but playback of divx on the philips
divx ultra means you have to burn it to a cd/dvd correct? seems wasteful to me.

yes i use mine for a lot more than just watching movies and tv shows...

...and if you guys don't want to burn stuff to dvd first have a look for a
sarotech media player (dvp-370 or 260 or 254) or a mediagate (mg-25 or 35)
they can also act as external hdd.

xbmc is a seriously good thing to have on an xbox, it's the only dash i run on
mine now, plays everything, great interface, almost unlimited ability to tweak
files to play how you want them to play.

my xbox was given to me free, original version 1 from hungary, i lashed out and
put a 120gb hard drive and top level mod chip in it, for the money i have spent
on it i'm not sure you could do better.

it's hard to put into words what it will do, cause it's a much shorter list of
what it won't do...

they're talking about the old xbox which u can get second hand for peanuts, not
the xbox360

tvfan: google around try xbox-scene.com, it may cost you nothing or $25
depending which version you have.
