when i first started this post it was initally in response to the black donnellys which i started to enjoy watching every week but it was also the last straw before my tirade started all of the things i thought about everytime a good quality show with a good script and people with talent created something great to only be then crushed and replaced with a bunch of no talent losers doing anything they can to get on tv because this would be their only way because they lack both the talent and integrity of real actors who studied or worked their way up from nothing to get the opportunity to entertain the masses. it just pisses me off & a lot of people obviously by the response of this post and i thank you for adding your thoughts and support when these lazy tv execs who obviously don't watch any of the crap they create for their networks just greenlight anything i am sure if they looked through forums like this and many other they would see the amount of fans for these shows they so easily discard there are out there and not just in america but all over the world i am constantly seeing people saying thanks from brazil, thanks, from south africa, thanks from bulgaria, thanks from australia, etc... once again i have gotten carried away with myself and i apologise to everyone if this post once again seems to go forever i thank you for your time in reading this

none of that matters i'm afraid. if ratings suck, it's pointless to keep a show going. they've already lost millions of $s by producing the show - airing it when it's not pulling its weight = losing a lot more money. the only cancelation this season so far that i don't like is six degrees - but i agree with every single cancelation. all the shows that have been canceled thus far have deserved it. i love six degrees - but the ratings are very shit, so canceling it is the only option abc have. same for every other show. black donnellys was okay - but not superb anyway. day break was a slow started, only the last five episodes were worth the watch really. casualties of the network war. some make it (galactica), some don't (six degrees), others lead the charge (heroes - w00t). |

another of my favorite shows cancelled. i'm (somewhat) ok with that. what is not ok is when they cancel mid-season. we who watch the show (any show, really) want closure. how can they not know that?! or care. |

they don't care because they lose money if they continue to air with shit ratings. if a show is only getting 1.1 ratings on nbc in a primetime slot, they're not going to keep airing it, losing money, just to keep fans of that show happy. they'll pull it and put something in there that will do a better job. sometimes you've gotta open your eyes and think like a network executive. they care about their viewers - but they care about losing shitloads of money more. |

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say this was one of the worst television shows ever aired in history. just absolutely atrocious. i couldn't be more glad that it's canceled. |

if they really cared about their viewers they would have at least the decency to finish the season. they could have aired it at a not so popular time (at night for all i care). it's really annoying to start following series and they get cancelled all the time... |

i never watched the black donnelly's but i too understand your frustration. we see it happen time and time again and of course the networks need to make money, but they schedule all the best shows to come on at the same time and play against each other. some nights we watch one show, tape another and flip channels to catch bits of a third...then the next night we stare at a blank tv screen because there's nothing on. we keep seeing good solid series fall by the wayside because of crappy scheduling. shows like surface, and day break...then the networks complain they lose money if people download the episodes? how else should we get to see them? and btw...it doesn't help us here in canada to put episodes like day break on a website that can only be viewed from the usa. so if we want to see an episode...we have to download it. we have no control over what the networks do, but if we enjoy a show, we should be able to watch it instead of cancelling it after 4 or 5 episodes. i feel networks should have a contract to screen an entire season if they agree to buy a series. surely they can screen it first? by pulling a series mid way just shows a blatant disregard for the viewers. |
