stumbled across a very enjoyable browser-based space game called shields up! the
other day. your standard space exploration/trade/commerce/piracy/battle premise
where you build up a character and skill set and travel the galaxy. browser
based so no fancy 3d graphics or anything, but good gameplay and very
well-designed for both the regular and casual player.
certainly provides something to do while you're waiting for torrents to download. ๐
it's currently in beta and you need a forum account there to start playing, so
if you're interested sign up at the forums at:
http://www.su-online.co.uk/community/
and give it a try. game signup link is on the left once you're in the forums.

the torrent links are in the column next to the release name - click on the [1]
or the [2] (they are the same torrent, just different hosts in case one has a
problem).

looks like it's archived in .rar files.
open the first one in winrar (presumably the ...rar.aa one) and it should open
the rest of the archive parts automatically.
