just in case someone saw the bones in todays show list then found it to be gone,
its because they (fox) are going to postpone showing the episode scheduled.
while it was not a \'school shooting\' the crime took place on a college campus.

given the tragedy at vt, fox, rightly in my opinion, pulled the episode and
slotted in a rerun in deferrence to raw emotion of the nation after such a
terrible incidence.

while fox has really teed me off a time or two, kudos for the decision; as much
as i love the show, its the right thing to do. next episode is slated for may
2nd i believe, though there is no decision on when this episode will air.

i hate it when tv companies do that. i am quite capable of seperating fact from
fiction.

i do not believe it to be a matter of separating fact from fiction but more of a
matter of being responsible; by association, sort to speak, not blatantly
reminding the public en masse of a very real and painful situation.

while it may not effect all of us (the universal us) there are some real
concerns with hurting people already hurting. it seems to me that being
cognizant of this and deciding not to inflict extra woe on others, albeit in all
probability, indirectly, is a decent minded response.

of course this is just my opinion but i am close enough to the area to know
people who are suffering for their family members in the aftermath.

ok so i understand their reasons for canceling the episode and totally agree.

but why not just show the next scheduled episode with an announcement as to why
they changed the programmed episode.

they can still decide if they will re-air this episode at a later date.

p.s.

my sympathies to all effected by this atrocity

i wholeheartedly agree with fox's choice to delay the episode. i love the show
as well, but it's still just a tv show. if there is even a possibility of it
striking a raw nerve of a nation that is trying to come to terms with a
terrible tragedy, then delay it. no question. it's a decision that will never
please everyone. if they air it, they will make some happy, and others will
say they are trying "capitalise" on the vt tragedy. if they cancel, they will
get respect from some but irk others because they have to wait an extra week
to see a new episode. i say bravo to fox and kudos for your decision and for
your respect in a nation's right to cope.

you call pulling the show being responsible? what, because they
don\'t want to 'offend' anyone? ..... i say they should have aired it, and if
people were pissed off about it, sucks to be them for taking fantasy land
seriously.

i don't believe i ever said it was because it might offend anyone or because it
would 'piss' people off. nor did i say anything about children or allowing
children to watch a crime show centered around forensics and like fields. i said
it was responsible to be concerned about adding insult to injury, sort to speak.

if my brother was recently shot as part of a college campus massacre and i tried
to sit down and watch tv to take my mind off things, and my favorite show played
an episode that is similar to the experience, chances are i would be upset.

and yes a warning could be helpful but it's also possible for the said program
to become distasteful because of a perceived, whether rightly or wrongly,
insensitivity due to the airing of the show. bad for the viewer, bad for the
network, bad for public image.

i could care less about fox etc, but they do have a habit of cancelling shows
for stupid reasons, in my opinion its smart to avoid the conflict in its
entirity, and for me, i say its smart to avoid the hassle because i selfishly
hope it says on the air.

it's an escape, a fantasyland to quote you, so why is it so unreasonable for a
company to try to keep it as such?

just great... how long before all the eps are pulled, as not to 'remind us of a terrible tragedy'... pfft.

::chuckles:: now that would highly piss me off and fox would be mine enemy! 🙂 i
hope this will only be for a week or so. given the proclivity for constant
breaks of late, its not a huge deal; any longer though and i get peeved and
start ranting of the lack of intelligence on the part of the networks.
