so, i get that a file is "nuked" when there's something wrong with it, and a
proper or repack is released...

what's an "internal" for? i ask because the latest doctor who has a release by
river and an internal by fov, even though there's no nuke.

so does that means something's wrong with the river, or is the fov better in
some way?

n3l87, your thinking of repack

an internal can be done for several reasons. here are a few
- the group lost the race so they label theres internal so it doesn't get nuked
for being a dupe and yet still get some credits (common with 720p x264s for
prison break and a lot of popular uk shows).
- new experimental kind of encode (like divx rips many years ago were internal
because everything was predominantly vcd and svcd)
- could be that the winning file was good but had one tiny problem in it so it's
not worth nuking and "propering" therefore they release an internal (ex. prison
break 1-3 frame glitch in some prison break early s02 episode, dirty jobs s05e10)
- or rarely it could be that they won the race but have a little problem like
doctor who s030e2 int by fov missing a few seconds at the beginning.
- or it could be that they downloaded a non scene release from p2p, renamed it
to there name and released it as internal to get rid of any suspicion. kinda
like what -bsgtv does (and no thats not allowed but they haven't gotten caught
yet).

with video, most internal releases that i have seen are for tv shows and not to
many movies.
