i know this is gonna generate a bunch of heat, but is it too much to ask that
the people who release episodes here take a few extra minutes and make sure
that the first release is ok? so many times i dl an episode, only to find that
a proper or repack has been issued. i have limited bandwidth where i live and
it kinda sucks to have to dl the same episode twice. don't get me wrong. i
totally appreciate the work they do.

yes, for the scene who release the episodes, it is too much to ask, and also
no one here can ask them as they do not interact at this, the lowest of
levels, (in their eyes)

so checking comments is our only way of self qc

thereyago, is that better?

look. i totally agree. it's just frustrating to have to dl twice. that's all
i'm saying. there are times, however that a proper or repack isn't released
very soon after the first release.

i never said i was impatient about it. and the bandwidth i have is all that is
available.

thank you, jayeff. i wasn't ragging on eztv. personally i love this site. i
appreciate what they do for tv watchers everywhere. to cite an example, i had
just finished dl supernatural and was prepared to watch it when i noticed a
repack. i read the messages and found out the original was severely flawed. it
is this kind of attention to detail (or lack of it) that i feel could be
improved upon. i have no problem waiting longer for quality releases (over re-
dling). i guess this whole thing was a rant of my own. i apologize for
sounding unappreciative. i really do appreciate their service.

stop calling me a noob. i've been doing this for 2+ years. i think i don't
qualify as a noob (yes i do know what it means). i just wanted to make a
helpful suggestion. i will say again, that i do appreciate what eztv does.
don't worry about my bandwidth. this wasn't supposed to be a focal point. to
your point about being more patient, i never said i was impatient, but
wouldn't it be nice to not have to download twice because (e.g.) 2 minutes of
possibly-crucial-to-the-plotline "footage" has been omitted, because someone
is in a rush to release before everyone else, and a proper isn't released
within, say, 12+ hours? that's what i thought. let's just put an end to this
whole post. thank you eztv for what you do. i am forever grateful. peace.

what actions? please specify so that i may be more like you.

no, no, please. enlighten me. how am i impatient? the fact that i have stated
that i have no problem waiting for quality? hmmmmm.... by the way. the reason
they are called faqs is that they are frequently asked questions. if we don't
continually ask the questions, then progress isn't made. if a question gets
repeatedly asked, maybe the ptb would listen and remedy the situation, if a
remedy is warranted. this is why i asked the question. noob or not. that being
said, eztv rulz.

thanks. i already knew that. i was just making a friendly suggestion for
whomever creates the releases in the first place to be more thorough. that's
all. but you're right. end of discussion as far as i'm concerned.

so did you download the complete sorny repack of supernatural? (widely
available approx/at least 4-5 hours before it turned up here)

or did you only download the 2.3mb that was missing?

interesting conversation.

only point i would like to make. this original post is wasteful. hopefully
majority of people know that the scene cappers do not visit this site (as stated
in the faq, refer to the first question), infact they despise this site for it
breaks every rule of the scene.

so stating such information will not help anyone as the people who cap will never
read this.

as a bit of research will tell you the scene works more on speed of release
compared to quality. most of the scene is automated with barely any manual
processing behind it. because of this you will see the that some shows will
obviously have some flaws from time to time, but if you compare it to the total
number of shows that get released a day, this is a small percentage.

personally i don't mind the current process of things, sure some shows need to
get propered and such, but i'm not so eager to watch something the millisecond
it airs.

finally i would like to thank all the people who seem to praise us a lot. we
enjoy providing tv shows to the many that are less fortunate to be able to watch
the amazing tv that is available.

yes it is too much to ask. it'd be prudent that you don't bring it up again =p

...although i must wonder... ive heard explainations upon explainations about
how bittorrent works. it seems that if a bad version is released and people are
using the tracker resources for these bad copies, then you are needlessly
taxing the system. i wonder if, in the long run, it wouldnt be cheaper
(monetarily, physically, or "time-is-money" aspect) to preview these before
release instead of issuing a proper? obviously for me it would easier, but i'm
talking about a more global concept. can spending 30min testing a release save
more than 30min worth of expenses to the system?

of course, i'm not talking about eztv personnel, i'm talking about the release
groups (who wont be reading this). someone has to initially seed these, and if
its the release groups then they have to re-seed also...

i hope you get my point. please dont flame me, i'm just looking at this issue
from a logic standpoint.
