avi files to PS3

hi
anyone know of a free programme i can download to convert avi. files into
mpeg files so i can watch them on ps3 ?

your other option, if you have a hdtv and your ps3 is connected to it via hdmi,
you can partition your ps3 drive and install yellow dog linux as a second
operating system.

then install vlc player and you won't have to convert anything.

doesn\'t convert xvid to mpeg-4 avc, so no good for ps3.

nice program though.
