Really really really slow download

ok, i'm gonna post another question. so if you don't want to read a message
from yet another pain-in-the-ass "newbie" then stop reading right now...
honest, just stop.

so my torrent download is super slow. i'm talking 5kb/sec slow. the fastest my
download ever got to was about 7kb/s... the average is about 1kb/sec... even
0.5kb/sec.

is this normal???

and yes, i looked at the faq and did all it said there. i'm not downloading
old torrents, or brand new ones, or too many (i'm only doing one at a time),
there are no firewalls in the way (i even looked up what those are by
myself... yuss!), my port is a-ok, and i applied for that magic "patch" thing
on the suggested web-site.

i even typed in "how to speed up torrent" in google and followed the
instructions on some johntp guys website: how-to-increase-
download-speeds-of-utorrent.

any other suggestions?

yes 7kb/s is an excellent speed . . . . . for dial-up. . . .

see what i mean?

what version of utorrent?
what settings have you changed or are they all bog standard?
what torrent was the last one you got crud speeds on?
what is your line speed? (please test it speedtest.net)
etc etc

you need much more information before you ask why your speed is slow.

and to stop being a newbie you think. think what someone needs to help you -
then post it before we have to ask.

anyway, if you post loads more info i am sure someone on here can help.
