Disney Says No to Lost on Blu-ray

it was reported a couple days ago by the hollywood reporter that lost,
season 3 was coming to blu-ray this december.

needless to say, i was completely ecstatic with the news. first heroes on
hd-dvd and now lost on blu-ray. for those of you who have given up on
lost thanks to the lackluster second season, the show
has really excelled
and outdone itself during season three, and its release to blu-ray was going to
be my #1 reason for finally adopting the format (in much the same way, that
heroes coming to hd-dvd, will see me finally purchasing a hd-xa2, the top
of the line hd dvd player, in a couple of weeks as part of the $100 instant
rebate promotion).

the news hit eztv today about lost coming to blu-ray later this year, and
all things seemed rosy. all i needed to do was find the right model blu-ray
player and catch it during the right promo - and i had months left to work out
those details. but it seems that disney has different plans. according to sad
news released from disney late today, the original hollywood reporter article
that broke the story of lost coming to blu-ray, had there facts wrong and
disney has no plans on the docket to bring lost to blu-ray during
calender year 2007.

the hybrid format is just both discs glued together isnt it? i think im going
to wait untill the war is at least partially resolved, or there is a clear
leader.

i would avoid that hybrid hd/bluray player from lg... from what i read the
hd-dvd was tacked on and doesn't fulfill all the requirements set upon by the
hd-dvd group.

i would buy a separate hd-dvd player. i believe hd-dvd is going to win.
