Views: Burn Notice; Traveler; Eureka; Kyle XY; Psych.

notice: this thread contains slight spoilers to the traveler
season 1 finale.

i just thought i'd try to insight some views in people on the shows that are
running now.

i've been watching this new show from the usa network, burn notice which (in my
view) is what psych could've been. i think burn notice contains that balance of
humour/action/drama that psych just couldn't get right.

speaking of not being able to get things right, eureka is back and i just don't
think that show has anything to offer any more. i didn't even realise that they
had finished season 1, and merely thought they'd taken a break; which highlights
just how little happens on this show for it to be of any significance.

in relation to kyle xy, i really think one season would've done it. this really
annoys me, the shows that show little promise get renewed; whereas the shows
that have the most promise, get cancelled with a wide-open ending, like the
traveler finale to say the least. don't get me wrong, i'm semi-enjoying the new
season of kyle xy, i just don't think it can be dragged on for as long as it is
going to be. i'm starting to wonder whether it's a case of wanting what one
can't have. would people like jericho as much if it was actually renewed for a
second season, or would it be pinned as one of those shows that died out and
wasn't remembered? maybe it's a good thing to be killed off early?

i'm enjoying eureka season two. as for kyle xy, season 2 for that is also superb
- it's so much better than season one. 4400 is a little confusing because of the
9 month break between s3-4 and no uk dvd release.

burn notice is superb - the best new cable series of 2007. i enjoy psych, but bn
is on a whole new level.

i say heroes, followed by lost. i like burn notice but i couldn't really say
"it's my favorite show" based on only 3 episodes.

definatley lost, followed by 24 (until recently), followed by jericho or heroes.
all great shows. i'm going insane waiting for season 4 of lost.

start watching it now - so worth it!

i don't really have a fav show. it changes all the time. shows i'm totally into
atm are dexter, kyle xy, eureka, rescue me and burn notice.

gotta say i really enjoyed kyle xy s1 but unfortunately s2 has dissapointed
me. the thing i liked about kyle originally was his freakiness and the fact
that the writers didnt put him up on a pedestal ... now he's a worshipped
angsty teen with a few special tricks - a poor mans version of early
smallville. i just want the writers to concentrate on the scifi and action
aspects of the show which is what i really liked about s1 - i just feel s2
patronizes its younger audience who were given such quality content & script
in s1. if they had made it a single season it would have been a tight and
brilliant piece of tv. anyway, seems some are still enjoying the series so
maybe im missing something. regardless, its a good series to download for the
kids to watch.

as for traveler ... well im pissed. this was a great show with an interesting
plot. granted the boys would frustrate me with some of their decisions, but
hey, at least i was completely engaged by the program each week. i cant
understand why it was cancelled, but i knew it would be when i watched the
first episode .... it was too interesting to stay on tv. jericho was in the
same boat. im so grateful that it was saved cause its pretty high on my fav
list, along with lost, regenesis, heroes, weeds, the riches, & smallville.
cant choose which one tops the list tho.

im yet to see burn notice or eureka, but after some of the comments above i
may just hav to giv em a try.

i disagree about kyle xy, it's great in season 2. eureka i'm still making my
mind up about. it's okay to sit down and watch, but if i missed an episode i
don't think i'd go crazy (unlike if i missed an epi of heroes or smallville).

psych has been very dissapointing so far. its just gotten boring and the only major good things in it are
just not
as good anymore. not funny, very not clever. reminds me of another badly made 'teen' movie or
something.

eureka seems to be getting off to a slow start. mostly lame little episode stories too. needs more big
plot,
and a
little humour wouldnt hurt too. i enjoyed last season and looked forward to the new one. but im not
exactly
thrilled its here to be really honest.

is traveler axed ? not much to say about that then. not suprised though, it was expensive.

kyle.xy is not bad but in the second season its getting really really slow. the deeper, bigger plot is
progressing almost backwards! its painful to watch the teen angst and lust frustrations all over the
screen
and nothing else. damn somebody fuck already! get it over with and get on with the damn story.

burn notice is on a par with where psych started in its first season. light hearted laugh with a purpose
(spy / observation skills, whatever) and some odd small stories in each ep. very mediocre in truth, and
the guy's too cocky for the character really. he comes off as a complete ass. way too fly.

hehe, that\'s exactly why i love it.

eureka is too much of the same with not enough humour. still watching though,
hoping i will get a few good episodes out of it.

kyle xy: i couldn\'t agree with you more redux. from scifi to yet another teen-
drama (with no scifi whatsoever).

4400: haven\'t watched s4 yet. still hoping for some hdtv rips to watch them
all back-to-back.

psych: it\'s, as santa said, hilarious. still. right up there with monk,
can\'t
get enough of him, and considering it\'s already in its sixth season, the
stories stay pretty fresh for such a small gimmick.

yup bn one of the best cable shows there is. for the others i have yet to watch
them heard they r nice though anyway i think psych nt really that good as some
say to be

my 2 cents, i.e. favourites:

drama:
used to be 24, before it got ridiculous. last season: day break, and recently
traveler. oh, and spooks/mi5.

sci-fi:
currently: jekyll. next a bit of a gap, and then s4 of the 4400.
heroes was last season\'s big surprise, but things like this, and especially
lost, i prefer to watch back to back once the season is finished. lost on a
weekly basis would *so* piss me off :d. shouldn\'t forget doctor who, although
the s3 finale was a bit of a let-down.

comedy:
south park. then family guy and american dad.

so let's start with traveler... and lots of spoilers.

traveler: pretty much a knock-off of prison break. same idea. guy(s) get framed
for something they didn't do and turns out the people at the highest levels of
government planned it.... and the fbi are involved in trying to bury them (like
seriously... it was so obvious that the fbi boss...the one who oversees the
black fbi agent and the other guy one.. was soooo part of the conspiracy)....
and jack freed... the only guy who knows it all and who can get them out...
getting blown up... sound familiar to the president's brother?... i'm glad they
canceled it... sure it'd have potential if it weren't so retarded... "oh daddy
would never set us up"... oh and in episode 3, the "yale cross campus library"
is really koerner library at ubc... and the ny fbi field office i think it was..
is really downtown vancouver

psych: i don't watch so i can't rant about it

kyle xy: hmm.. where to begin? someone... i think redux?.. said that they should
fuck already.... oh god... totally agree with you there... so agonizing to watch
the stupid 'love' triangles with the ex-bf/gfs..kyle and amanda better have sex
soon.
moving on to jessie xx.... hmm...1) she acts weird... like kyle was at the
beginning... she acts so differently when emily went to see the new and improved
xx for the first time 2) she fixed the radio 3) she and the lights when yelled
at 4) kyle's memory reruns... hello!? he saw her before the place was bombed
5)beach party anyone? omg! jessi doesn't have a bellybutton!
madacorp... hmm.. i wonder what big company gobbled up stephen's workplace? liek
... maybe.. uhh.. madacorp? duh.

eureka: the first 2 episodes were pretty bad/boring.. however this last episode,
episode 3 was back into the whole eureka thing... and jack carter really has bad
taste... else he wouldn't have married abby... god she's ugly... couldn't they
have found a better, hotter mom for zoey?... oh but the henry-beverly thing...
getting more intense

burn notice: a bit unrealistic... however pretty good. i'm currently downloading
the latest episode. it's a bit macgyver-ish... seeing as how he doesn't have
money to buy the stuff so he makes it out of household items... i love fi and
michael's mom... sam is a little meh atm

the 4400: loving it! every episode is just as good as the last... so what's with
the whole tom baldwin now being one of the future's evil marked and also
supposed to helping jordan collier? sounds to me like the opposite of isabelle
tyler... isabelle started off bad because she was a product of the future but
now is "good"... tom is good but now can be bad if called upon by the marked.

if you're going to post spoilers.. just pick up that gun and shoot yourself in
the head.
