can anybody take a little of thier precious time to give some advice? my hard-
drive is nearly full of my favourite shows. i need some recommendations on
the fastest/space saving dvd authors. i want to transfer everthing onto dvd,
but i\'m encountering some problems. i\'ve used cucusoft video converter
which
is fast but the sound quality is awful, also can only get 1, 350 meg episode
on a 4.7 gig disc??? i\'m also using tmpgenc dvd author which is nice but
takes about 20 hours to convert and burn 3 episodes to disc, which is going to
take me 21 days non stop to convert all of my files!! if i give up my job this
wouldn\'t be a problem, but i need to pay for the electricity needed to do the
task. can anybody give me a few ideas or recommendations on software??? many
thanks if you take the trouble.

do yourself a favour (favor depending on where you are from), buy a divx player,
very cheap in most countries and you won't have to convert anything.

if you, like me, prefer actual dvd-video discs then i'd recommend using tmpgenc
xpress for the encoding. i personally use dvd-lab to author the image and dvd
author to burn it.

granted, it's 3 separate steps but the results are great in my experience (i
give copies to friends too who are also pleased with the results).
you may wish to customise the encoding quality to suit your needs but i can fit
6 episodes per disc without too much degradation in visible (~6 feet from 26")
quality. using my own settings it takes about 20-30 mins per 40min file on my setup.

or there's always convertxtodvd as has been mentioned.

i agree on the divx dvd player, great investment. tigerdirect just had a
blowout sale here in canada at one of there stores, they were selling them
brand new in the box for $20 cad, i grabbed 3 of them. however if you plan not
to go that route, then all i have ever used is "super dvd creator v9.25".
works great, even in vista. takes about 25-30minutes per every standard
42minute 350meg show. if you put two 350meg shows on a dvd it takes about an
hour. great program.

if you want it, pm me, ill send it to you with the keygen.

if only were that simple and cheap. i'm based in the uk and prices are
slightly diff. may look at getting a divx player in the future. wanna watch
battlestar on my big screen, that's why i'm struggling on with the encode to
dvd. just has to be done! thanks for advice though, like the sound of the
super dvd creator. i'm messing with tmpgenc 4.0 at the moment and it seems to
be going well, just gotta work on my dvd menu soundtracks and slideshows.
excuse my stupidity but what is 'pm me'? cheers for various responses
guys from sunny england.
