Comments to Site new design

yep just needs to take some getting used to. at first when i visited the
site.. almost looked like i was logging onto the site in safe mode or something.

a few more hours, a few more improvements.

things are definitely moving in a good direction - now that the various
changed elements are beginning to hang together coherently i'm starting to
like it a lot.

my major problem now is the alternate line colour interleave, as aydin also
mentions.
this is an issue on firefox (& opera/safari etc) because the mouseover
highlighting colour change is a little too subtle right now.
it's a bigger issue on ie (and variants) because mouseover highlighting
doesn't work *at all*.

nice ideas, however the interleaving colours and moving the 'edit', 'quote',
'delete' etc. is a job that the programmers will have to do -- edtting just the
css is rather limited in what can be moved.

there's a major problem with internet explorer in that the rollover tabs
flicker, this is a problem with how ie deals with caching. each time the mouse
moves over or out, ie re-downloads the image, so there's a slight delay causing
the flicker.

yeah - i figured it would be something pretty fundamental, or it would have
been fixed long ago, i'm guessing 😉

sites like last.fm and mininova have workarounds for ie mouseover highlighint
lines, but they are far from ideal - each move causes a big cpu spike (even on
a recent high end processor) and feels `laggy`.

the new darker grey for the mouseover works very well indeed.

yep it's shaping up nicely, i like the improved logo colour too. 🙂

another small issue:

on both the upper and lower side of the forum, there are gradients used as
background for the "create new post" and the arrows parts, they end in clear
white, which stands out to much... maybe that gradient could end in a little
bit of beige to and also, the direction of that gradient is flipped between
the lower and upper rule, which gives it even more the feeling like something
is wrong there, if you know what i mean .. 😛

other than that, great job m8!

one last question, ctu_bauer, do you also have a .psd or .png [transparent]
logo, so i can create banners and images for the showinfo's more easily?

i don\'t know if this is a result of these format changes, but i can\'t seem to
add a new show to \'my page\'. i just tried it with \'bionic woman\'; it shows up on
the \'my page - list my shows\' but not on \'my page - main\'?

any thoughts?

yeah, it's because there's no torrent listed for bionic woman 😉

just wait until the season start and it will pop up in your list.

on another note:

@ctu_bauer: sorry, but still don't like the backgroundgradient of the make new
post and arrows part. it stands out too much from the background behind it.
maybe it's better to just make it one colour or use the gradient from the
quote, reply, etc. part in the forum. 🙂

there is a torrent for it, but there is no "show info" attached to it, when the
"show info" is added it will probably show up on "my page - main"

i like the logo.

the colours are ok(ish), a bit lacking in colour really (mostly grey and cream).

the tabs are broken in ie (ie6 anyway, dunno about ie7).

quotes look a bit odd in ie as well.
