most downloaders on this site are not from the us. some of the shows do make it across but most of them take their sweet little time. with downloads you get to choose when to watch the episode and often with great quality. i'm also from sweden and it's true that most of us can do well without the subtitles. commercials are also a reason why it's torturous to watch tv. like over here they do commercials that resemble the shows. with house they've done actors that look like the cast and they hold up charts with some company name on it. eztv offers comfort with knowing these are real episodes and not fake or full of "infections". |

so very true! but i also agree with the fact that in other countries , like mine, we have to wait about 3 months for a show after it aired in america, we don't have access to american tv and yes...ads...they are irratating to say the least. |

my reasons for downloading are: - i don't have to wait half a year or a year until it airs where i live (austria), and can therefore read message boards without having to fear major spoilers - i don't have to suffer through an - at best - mediocre dubbing and sometimes lose the plot because i try to figure out why something was supposed to be funny when it just didn't make any sense in german (no the native tongue in austria isn't austrian it's german), when i translate it back to english it does make sense, but that's a try and error thing because sometimes the translation is so messed up that it's very hard, also i hate it when actors have different voices on different shows, or one voice for different actors on different shows, both irritate me - i can watch what i want when i want and don't need to plan my evenings around the tv program - i can watch shows that never aired here (eg the west wing) or aired ages ago (downloading early edition from a different torrent site) |

my main reason is we watch too many shows and my tivo can't get all them. plus a few shows that i don't get on my channel line-up (for example hbo and bbc). it also allows us to watch them whenever. we are very busy people and sometimes takes us a few weeks to catch up on shows we watch. |

i just found this site and i thought i'd give my reason. the main reason right would be that i had heroes (then end of season 1) on my dvr, but the hd died after a power failure (it's plugged into a surge suppressor too-lame) and it lost all of my shows. so i would download them so me and my g/f can watch the rest and start on season 2. my next reason would then be that we don't get the cw (wb) in hd (come on time warner!) so i would download the shows i watch on there so i could have them in hd (i pay for hd why can't i get the cw in hd?). i usually don't watch them when they air, so i would not mind waiting. my last reason would be that i have a media center in my room and in order to get hd on it, i have to either get an over the air tuner (nope) or buy a new computer that comes with a cable card reader (not going to happen-this one is 6 months old). |

im an aussie citizen residing in the us - and while the networks back home are slowly starting to come to terms with the fact that 3-6-9-12 months is too long for the more popular shows like prison break and heroes, many shows are still broadcast many months after the us airing due to the us-aus ratings seasons being about 6 months apart. pb and heroes are now being aired approx 1 week after the us airing due to popular demand by consumers and the advances in broadband technology/torrents/clients/bandwidth allowances etc. i still download all my shows once they have aired here for one main reason - time. i can watch 3x 40 min eps of my fave shows (after download) in the same amount of time it takes me to watch 2x eps (live via cable) so why not watch it when i want to and not when the networks say i have too? mondays are jammed with popular programs and you can't watch everything but most importantly, i'd rather spend my precious time watching what i want, when i want and not have to pay extra for tivo |

for me it is simply reason d), for surely as kurai said, the biggest one of all. i'm an englishman living in thailand, and if any of you have ever been to thailand and seen the tv and cable channels over here, you will know that without the likes of eztv, i would be going quietly out of my mind. by the way rodgerse, britain is spelt britain, not brittian |

it's a-thru-e minus d for me! :-) reason for this site is it's (usual) quality and overall selection. although i wish a few 'lesser known' channels/shows would be included. hey, i've already put my request for those in the correct place! lol i trust eztv to be virus-free in the dl's and for the file to be what it says the file is. i've not had that same experience with some of the other sites out there. sometimes, i've actually found shows that hadn't even aired yet! now that is cool! money is an issue for me, so i'm grateful i can get 'my' shows without the extortionist fees of the megapoly's. but i'm also really tired of nearly 5+ minutes of commercial breaks for every da*n show! i mean... come on! a '60 min' show used to be a good 50+ of program time. now we're lucky if we have a full 43 min. with credits! give me a frickin' break! i just wish xor would either stop being so sloppy or that there would always be a proper to clean up their mess. i'm missing some shows becuz it seems the only release is an xor one, and there are no alternatives...... sigh.... and that's my opinion! ;-) thanks eztv! a grateful usa fan! |
