apparently it is a widely supported format in some areas, so only hd content is
being releases in x264, instead of xvid.

but for example, wouldn't people rather atleast have the colbert report + daily
show in x264, so it can be 640x480, same as standard tv resolution, instead of
current 512x384 xvid.

what we want is irelivant, scene standards are set by the groups and deviants
are nuked.

i get what you are saying of course but it is what it is.

check the scene standards, i am pretty sure somone posted them over at
vcdquality a while back.

not been updated since 2005 (that i have seen) so some scene rules for hd rips
are needed.

i am sure it will be along the lines of what we already have but size rules
being for dvdr media.

can standard dvd players and media hard drives (that can play xvids ect) play
x264?
