Media Player won't play video, help!!!

sorry if this post pops up elesewhere, first time posting here. my problem:
i downloaded bionic woman, (which i would just watch off of nbc.com, but i
slowed my broadband to save a few bucks so it pauses every 10 seconds to
buffer) but when i play it w/ media player, i get audio but no video. i tried
playing w/ vlc player, but that gave me an error message upon opening. any
suggestions on how i can watch it? does the hd version complicate things?

that link isn't working for me. i get 'improper format'

how does one reintall codecs?

vlc gives me this error:

unrecognized format for 'c:\users\public\videos\sample
videos\bionic.woman.s01e01.proper.hdtv.xvid-stfu.[eztv].torrent.torrent'

i just discovered i was trying to play the file and not the download. i'm
sorry for being an absolute tool. vlc is working.
