over the past two or three days i have noticed that my dht has sometimes taken a
long time to log in, currently have this with bionic woman.

i wondered if there is a limit to the number of users that can log in or
something as this has only started happening since the popular shows have
returned? i use dht exclusively for my downloads due to a blocking program on
this computer (which i don't have the password for.)so when i can't log into dht
i can't download.

cheers,
kirnon

o.o log in, ive never had to log into get on to dht, didnt think you had to
since it was a public tracker-less system.

which client requires you to log into dht anyway?

i'm using utorrent. dht status is "waiting for announce...." there is a counter
above which counts down then resets. on the bottom bar is where i get the login
stuff. where it gives download speed and upload it also gives a "dht: waiting to
login" normally it would say something like "dht: 306 nodes" or somesuch thing.

so i guess you need to log into the nodes - however since i know nothing about
dht and can't even remember what it stands for - your guess is as good as mine.

i think its "distributed hash table",

i don't know how the dht system works in utorrent, but in azures it starts up
with the client and registers about a million peers at all times, sometimes
more, depends on the time of the day.

maybe some on who uses utorrent will know more about configuring dht on it or
getting it work properly,

by the way what blocking program is it that is preventing you from non dht
downloads?

i have taken tv fan's advice and updated to 1.7.5, sadly still no change - any
other suggestions would be great and also thanks for the reminder regarding the
dht meaning. i figure it will work again its just that i am confused as to why
it has happened (and continues to happen)its not like i have had trouble before
this.

hey.. i too was suffering the same problem..
what i found to rectify it was deleting both the dht.dat and dht.dat.old files
located... documents and settings - administrator - application data - utorrent

restarted utorrent and the problem was solved..

hope this helps...

cheers

omg! i went looking for these, and found hundreds of torrent files. they
weren't in dht.dat files though. what on earth are they there for?
