how favorable is the internet to just watching old television sets?.

it's not really a matter of not enjoying the local content (australia), but
more so the quantity. we just don't have such a large range of shows. i do
watch a number of home grown shows, but really enjoy the us stuff also.
but as for cable/satellite, i simply can't afford it. and then you still might
have dozens of channels, but still nothing you like to watch. so dl allows me
to get the shows i like so i can watch when i want.

i download all my favorite shows (better quality) but of course i watch normal
tv. i cant watch downloaded stuff all day so i just watch regular tv of various
programs that are just repeats of old shows which have ended. like stuff on tbs,
fx, comedy central and a few local stations (like fox for seinfeld and simpson's
repeats and other stations for sitcom shows) and other stuff of that matter.
although i do have the tv right in my room with a satellite box so i just
generally have it on most of the day
