bollocks, flash gordon is actually better than half the shows on offer at the
moment. numpties hate it because a: they want 'the flash' b: it's not smallville
c: it's a comedy d: they don't get fucking c.

idiots who would run an old lady and her cat over, if they thought it would put
their house fire out.

it's just classic.

like hassling the bald bugger on a train coz he's big and obviously a nazi, not
realise he's just a poor emo with cancer.

my guess is that he's going to get his powers when he infiltrates ming water
processing plant and has an "accident" with the mystical heavy-water of mongo
but that's probably not going to happen until season 2 or 3.

also, i heard a rumor that johnny quest and hadji are going to start making a
guest appearances on the show and there's going to be a back-story involving
the bird men of mongo! i can't wait! sim sim salabim!

the guy who plays the part has some muscle desease problem and it is in his
contract that they can't make him run fast.

true but i think they are going to just speed up the film to make it look like
he's running fast, like supergran on the old benny hill show.

i read the threads avidly every week in the hope this will happen.

i had no idea that the actor playing the flash is a cripple but as mentioned
before even a slow shuffle can be sped up to look like the super speed we all crave.

i have mentioned before that clark kent in smallvile does not fly but in no way
does this make it a bad show.

perhaps they plan many series all documenting his slowly gaining his super powers.

flash gordon is not "the flash" from dc comics. even some guy at the flash
gordon panel at the comic con got that confused, incredibly enough. blows my mind.

and i can't believe thats happening here too... especially when we can all be
ranting about the fact that half this episode is a "clip" show. i thought they
died out 10 years ago but i guess i was wrong!

and a clip show in the first season. these usually were filler for the later
seasons in times when shows got to live longer without the threat of canceling
in a short notice. or for the shows made for syndication and thus expected to be
shown without any sane order.

granted it wasn't only clips, more like "for those who are just joining us" but
still way to early even for that. there really isn't that much back story built
up yet.

see... the fact that the guy playing flash has a bum leg just proves that he
will gain his super speed by the end of the season... it's called "foreshadowing."
